Feeding the Chooks in the Year of the Cock?

I was reading Tracey Spicer's book 'The Good Girl Stripped Bare' where she wrote about an old Queensland state Premier who used to brag about "feeding the chooks" when he ever gave a press conference.
That's the late Premier behind Aussie/Kiwi Barnaby Joyce
I used to think Joh was
 a
big chook feeder, too;-)
A chook is an Australian term for a chicken, and I don't know what Joh meant by the term "feeding the chooks" (maybe he meant he was feeding the press chicken feed?) when he was out in front of the press, but "feeding the chooks" is also an Australian term meaning,  "a hand gesture used by masturbators reminiscent of a farm hand distributing feed to the chickens."
Queensland and Australian politicians have been feeding us rate payers and citizens garbage and chook food for years it seems.
Organised network shifting waste to 'dumping capital of Australia' to avoid tariffs
"Australia's waste industry is being undermined by unscrupulous middle-men contracted to shift rubbish interstate to avoid paying landfill levies.
Regulators and governments know about this practice but have repeatedly failed to act.
The Four Corners investigation has exposed an organised network of waste transporting and freighting companies sending waste by road and by rail to
Queensland to avoid paying the high New South Wales landfill levy of $138 per tonne."

The weird thing is no sooner had I read Tracey's comment about a Queensland politician "feeding the chooks" then I open the paper to see that there is now a chook pen on the grounds of the Queensland parliament in the Chinese Year of the Rooster, 2017.
Queensland Parliament’s chicken run a real coop
Is this meant to be some kind of Joh-k?-)
The trouble is that in 2017 world politics is full of "chook feeders", whether they be male or female politicians.
And there is no bigger "chook feeder" than the one in the
White (hen?-) House in the Year of the Fire Rooster, except for that cock Kim in NK.
It will be a miracle if the world makes it to 2018 the way things are going, so far this year.
Game of chicken ... or duck ... and cover?
Let's hope none of us have to "duck and cover" this year with all of these "chook feeders" with their fingers on the button ... or so they say.
When I flipped to the next page in the paper there was a story about deception starting at three.
Hmm ... who said everything isn't connected?
There are not many politicians around at the moment I would trust whether male or female.
Most of them are just "chook feeders" in my book.
Kind of ironic that Tracey used to work at Sky News when this year seems to be more Year of  the Chicken Little than the Rooster.
Let's hope for no falling sky this year.
I did find Tracey's words in her book about the stats of men killing women rather chilling and on the front page of that same paper about politicians and chooks was another familiar story of another missing woman.
Also, on a darkly synchronistic note Tracey had written about being part of the 2UE radio family in her book and today I see the headline -
2UE radio host Gary O'Callaghan dead at 83
I don't think I have ever lived through a more bizarre political and scary year in my whole life as 2017 is turning out to be.
And I grew up in Queensland under the original "feeder of chooks".
What?
Me worry?
I am the little red rooster
Too lazy to crow for day
I am the little red rooster
Too lazy to crow for day
Keep everything in the farm yard upset in every way
The dogs begin to bark and hounds begin to howl
Dogs begin to bark and hounds begin to howl
Watch out strange cat people
Little red rooster's on the prowl
Let's hope these political cocks don't have our kids wearing dog tags come 2018.

  1. Looks like Australia has its own share of political crooks and general weirdness!

  2. Yeah, but I think it's the same the world over somehow.
