Forcing Yourself to Smile Can Drive You to Drink?

I read this story in an April newspaper that stated that, "people who plaster a fake smile on their faces and suppress the urge to roll their eyes in front of customers are more likely to turn to heavy drinking.
From Paul Cosentino's book, 'Anything is Possible'
I think Cosentino is right that if you genuinely like what you do people can tell and it's a kind of magic when you do, but if you are just going through the motions, it is hard to convince yourself and others that just because you are smiling that you are genuinely happy doing what you are doing.
One of my favourite entertainers was Emmett Kelly Jr. because he was a clown who hardly ever smiled, so if he ever did you would know he was genuinely happy.
I have a statue of his sad clown on top of my fridge (ironically, it's next to an ice bucket I just realized:-) to remind me that it's OK not to bullshit people that you are happy all of the time with a fake smile on your face to hide your feelings.
Not that I have to be a sad sack and bring everyone down with a frown, either.
But it's better than being a happy/sad alcoholic in your down time, I feel.
But then two days later in the same newspaper I see this article below.
What?!
I wish these clowns at the newspaper would make up their minds as to how we should apply our make-up in a healthy way:-)

Cheers.
