Nature Loss: Major Report to Highlight 'Natural and Human Emergency'?

A kingfisher in a scene from
the movie '
Watership Down
'
Watership Down (1978)
I saw a BBC news story about climate change featuring a kingfisher and couldn't help thinking of the animated kingfisher from the 'Watership Down' movie, not to mention the kingfisher that flew into my living room window nearly killing itself in the process, and was the incident that started me blogging in the first place -
The Bird that Flew into the Window
The Sacred Kingfisher that hit my window
"Scientists and government officials meet this week in Paris to finalise a key assessment on humanity's relationship with nature.
The Intergovernmental Panel for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, or IPBES, will issue the first report of this type since 2005.
It will detail the past losses and future prospects for nature and humans.
One author says the report will highlight the "social and ecological emergency" the world is now facing."

So, they are trying to tell us that we are living the last of the Halcyon days?

2019: Year of the Pigs?!

CRISPR food on our supermarkets shelves?
"Gene editing tools like CRISPR are taking the scientific world by storm, promising new cancer cures and superfast breeding of plants and animals.
So a
Federal Government decision not to regulate some types of gene editing used in agriculture and medicine may have many researchers breathing a sigh of relief.

But what does it all mean?"
Send in the clones?!

Pulling Your Own Strings?

I've never read Wayne Dyer's second book 'Pulling Your Own Strings', but I was reading chapter 36 of Wayne's book 'I Can See Clearly Now' where he writes about hearing about the death of Elvis back in 1977 when touring Australia to promote his first book 'Your Erroneous Zones' and that's when he got the idea to write 'Pulling Your Own Strings'.
Wayne writes in 'I can See Clearly Now' about being on Dinah Shore's TV show to promote the book and how he ended up being good friends with Dinah and landing a weekly gig on her show.
Dinah passed away 25 years ago in 1994, so it's been 25 years since her passing this year, so there's one more anniversary for 2019 to go with the ones I wrote about in my last post -
Throw Another Barbie on the Barbie?
Dinah Shore's first movie role
I notice that Dinah played herself in the 1977 movie 'Oh, God', also starring George Burns and John Denver.
I notice ironically that John Denver died in a plane crash 20 years after 'Oh, God' came out, and on the "great beast's" birthday of October 12th and 50 years after Crowley died.
John Denver and George Burns in 'Oh, God'
Probably not hard to guess what John's last words were when his plane hit the ocean.
John was born in Roswell, New Mexico, which I found interesting, as he stars with Teri Garr in 'Oh, God', who played his wife in that movie, and she also starred in another 1977 hit about UFOs, 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind'.
Teri wasn't born in Roswell like John was, but she was born in 1947, which was the same year of the alleged Roswell incident.
Did Someone Say Owls and Synchronicity?
I guess if you travel down enough strange rabbit holes you start to wonder if you really are pulling your own strings or not;-)
Human Initiated Contact Experiences (HICE) or Just Theater of the Mind?
I guess it's always fun to believe that we can pull our own strings to a certain degree, right?-)
A creepy black-eyed puppet don't you think;-)
I've got to get me some scissors and a copy of Wayne's book I think.
But you know what they say about telling God your plans, don't you?-)
So good luck with that string pulling that you think you are doing, as something or someone are always trying to pull them for you.
I Can See Clearly Now That Life is a Journey, Not a Destination?

Throw Another Barbie on the Barbie?

I noticed that there are a lot of pop-cultural anniversaries coming up in 2019 the Year of the Pig
Barbie turns 60, while QT seems to be paying homage to Sharon Tate's passing away 50 years ago this year with his 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' movie starring the live action Aussie Barbie actress Margot Robbie, who also plays Harley Quinn from the 'Suicide Squad' movie.
And 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'
comes out on Kurbrick's birthday
Interesting combo of roles there for Margot if you could pop them all into one Barbie doll I think.
2019 also marks the 25th anniversary of 'Black Hole Sun' being released back in 1994 on Black Friday May 13th, with the acoustic track 'Like Suicide' on the B side of the single.
And who can forget the Barbie dolls on the BBQ in that 'Soundgarden' music clip?
I'll bet Nikki Osborne's 'Bad Barbie' comedy show is doing some extra business this year.
The 'throw another shrimp on the barbie' television commercial turns 35 in 2019, as well.
And 'Dumb and Dumber' celebrates a 25th anniversary, too.
So, it's a big year for Barbies, Margot, Australia and pop-culture it seems for 2019.
Karl Lagerfeld Dies in the Year of the PIG, as Margot Robbie CHANELs Sharon Tate in 2019?
