Somewhere on Euphomet via a Search for the Owl Guy and Some Real Owls?

I went for an owl spotting sunset walk with my youngest son on Tuesday May the 12th, 2020 along the Powerful Owl Trail at
Mount Coot-tha in my hometown of Brisbane, Australia.
The Channel 7 TV tower,
or just a
screen memory?-)
Mount Coot-tha is home to Australia's largest owl, the
Powerful Owl, and ironically the four free to air television stations of the greater Brisbane area, from where all of my screen memories of UFO shows like the Betty and Barney Hill movie, Chariots of the Gods, UFO, Dr. Who, and various other TV shows and movies were beamed into my childhood mind via the TV set.
We didn't spot any owls on the walk, although I did spot a crow on the opposite side of the road as we drove into the carpark, as if the crow was waiting for us to arrive.
I couldn't get a photo of the crow, as my son was in the driver's seat blocking my photo opportunity as we drove past it.
It was a rather eerie walk I thought, as I couldn't hear much but an "oz factor" like silence as I tried to listen out for any owl calls that evening.
There seemed to be an absence of any bird life at all for most of the walk, not even a fairy wren to be heard on the fairy Wren Circuit.
The main wildlife we spotted on the walk were spiders hanging in the air in their webs above our heads as we walked under them.
One of the many spiders I spotted
above our heads on the walk
Which in hindsight was funny, considering I would listen to a podcast featuring the owl guy Mike Clelland talking about spider webs and synchronicity on the Euphemet Dispatch podcast I wrote about in this recent post at the end of May, 2020 -

Speaking of Jung ... and About the Nighttime Sky?
I couldn't help thinking how much that orange and blue sunspot I caught on my camera in that photo above looked like the 'Bull Durham' logo -

My son likes to play "Geocach" when out walking, and decided to duck off into the bush where his cell phone told him a Geocach was hidden.
It was hidden around near that dark tree in the photo above.
And what was in the tin was a calling card from the SRAA, an organization I had not heard of before the walk.
But I looked them up on the web when I got home and was impressed by their website.
The funny thing was the last time my son gave me something from a Geocach find it was an owl trinket someone had put in an Eclipse tin, and I still have the owl hanging on my computer desk to the left of me -

The owl trinket hanging from my desktop now
I had wondered why my son was
bringing a pen on the walk
An old lightning struck tree trunk?
We also checked out the old gold mine on a separate track to the Powerful Owl Trail, which added some extra distance to our planned walk, and lessened some daylight for us when we made it back to the owl trail.
Stairway to heaven?
Two kookaburras mating up there somewhere?
On the way back to the car-park my son said he could see two kookaburras mating on a branch somewhere in the photo above, and while I could hear them I didn't spot them.
The stairway to the underworld?
By doing the gold mine track we only managed to do half of the powerful owl track, so we vowed to come back again the following month (which we did) and try and spot an owl, but by then my older brother would have passed away at the end of May unexpectedly in his sleep.
Ironically, I had written in that old post about Poe and my son finding the owl trinket, just how much that trinket owl reminded me of the owl on the Bluesfest poster, and then this year when I had planned to go down to see Alanis Morrisette play Bluesfest on Good Friday the whole thing gets cancelled because of the corona-virus.
I still ordered a heap of Bluesfest 2020 merch that was made before the festival was called off, and ironically it arrived in the mail the day of my brother's funeral, which was the day after Alanis' birthday this year.
