How to Celebrate September 6th, 2025? 🥳🎉🥓🤔

The 'Days of the Year' website page for September 6th, 2025, says -
"Start your day with a hearty breakfast featuring crispy bacon and a cup of coffee ice cream. Dive into a captivating book to kick off a well-rounded day. Embrace the spirit of World Beard Day by grooming your facial hair or appreciating beards around you. Honor the Hungry Ghost Festival by trying a new cuisine or exploring a local restaurant you’ve never visited. Take a moment to reflect on National Color Blind Awareness Day by adding vibrant colors to your day or appreciating the beauty of the world around you.
Celebrate International Vulture Awareness Day by learning more about these fascinating creatures or volunteering at a local animal shelter. Savor the grace of hummingbirds on National Hummingbird Day by setting up a feeder in your yard or going on a nature walk. Combat procrastination on Fight Procrastination Day by tackling tasks you’ve been putting off or creating a to-do list for the day.
Enjoy the outdoors with a game of egg toss to mark Great Egg Toss Day or participate in a local cleanup event for Carl Garner Federal Lands Cleanup Day. Gather friends for a tailgating party to celebrate National Tailgating Day or organize a picnic to honor Unification Day in Bulgaria.
Each of these holidays offers a unique opportunity to embrace the day with gusto, whether it’s through trying new things, appreciating nature, or simply enjoying the company of others. So go forth and make the most of this motley assortment of holidays, creating a day filled with whimsy and joy!"
Turkey Bacon
'International Bacon day' is not a day I would celebrate personally unless I was allowed to substitue real bacon with something like Turkey Bacon, which I never knew was a thing until I was in Singapore this year, where it is a big thing in restaurants and diners over there, probably because of the big Malay population who are mainly Muslim in their belief and practices.
I'm not Muslim, nor do I observe Jewish Kosher dietary laws, it's just more of a cultural thing for me, as a token of my part distant Jewish heritage, but none of my immediate family abstain from eating bacon, as my mother's side is mainly Danish with a bit of Scotch/English and my father's side is a mix of German, Baltic and Jewish heritage, so most of my family immediate members love eating bacon and other pork dishes.
But I chose not to, not that I'm gonna stick my fingers down my throat if someone accidentally or on purpose slips pig meat into my meals.
I'm not a Vegetarian, so Turkey Bacon is something I didn't mind substituting for bacon while I was in Singapore.
My Turkey Bacon breakfast in Singapore
That's
Turkey Bacon on my breakfast plate above, with lamb sausages, egg and baked beans, which I would have most mornings in the hotel's restaurant while staying in Singapore.
I kinda miss those buffet breakfasts now that I'm back home in Australia
And while I avoid eating eggs now, to look after my prostrate, I don't mind tossing a few eggs on my plate while I'm on holiday, so I don't mind celebrating 'Great Egg Toss Day';-)
The only thing I hated about our hotel room in
Singapore was the bathroom sink is right outside the shower, and I don't like having a beard, so I have to shave every day to avoid growing one.
I have nothing against people with beards, but I don't want to have one, so 'World Beard Day' isn't for me either.

Plus, you can't really get dressed in the shower after you're all wet, so it's an awkward situation trying to dress, shave and shower in a room like this one above if you don't want to traumatize people you are sharing the room with, who aren't your other half.
Next time I go overseas I'll be making sure I have a proper bathroom to get semi/naked in without having to worry about other people in the room who may not want to see my nakedness or vice versa.
Every September 6th
September 6th is also 'National Hummingbird Day', which I have mentioned before on this blog -
Hummingbird Medicine?
See it flying where the flat rock on the left is?
And this year I got to see some real-life hummingbirds close up for a few brief seconds while I was in Las Vegas looking for flamingos at the Flamingo Casino -
Funny thing is that next month on my 2025 bird calendar has a hummingbird featured:-)
Whoever put this calendar together obviously doesn't know that 'National Hummingbird Day' falls in September.
September 6th is also 'Fight Procrastination Day' which I wrote a post about earlier on September 6th, which is probably why I was up so late finishing off this current post:-)
