"The gunman who carried out a series of shootings in California that left six people dead is Elliot Rodger, the son of a Hollywood film director, police have confirmed.

Witnesses reported seeing a black BMW speeding through the streets and spraying bullets at people and other targets in the beachside community of Isla Vista, where many college students live, on Friday night (local time).
Sheriff Bill Brown confirmed that the 22-year-old Rodger - the son of The Hunger Games second unit director Peter Rodger - was the only suspect."

I couldn't help noticing this kid seemed to be a cross between  
Donnie Darko and the evil Kevin from the movie  
We Need to Talk About Kevin.
A golf course is a prominent feature in the movie Donnie Darko, not that Donnie played golf either.

Elliot Rodger also seemed to crave the attention that Kevin K did in the movie We Need to Talk About Kevin, as can be seen in the trailer for the film.

Ironically, Elliot's father Peter has only written and directed one mainstream movie, and that was a film called Oh My God, a documentary about people's opinions on whether God exists.

""Oh My God" asks people from all walks of life, from celebrities, to the religious, to atheists and the common Man - the question - "What is God? ".

Peter Rodger was only The Hunger Games second unit director, not the main director of the movie..

 In The Hunger Games the heroine kills with a bow and arrow, and in We Need to Talk About Kevin, the villain shoots up his high school with a bow and arrow.

 Speaking of hunger games and birds, I noticed there was a food joint called Freebirds within a block of the shooter's endgame  
(so to speak)

 Someone had alerted me the other day to the backward letters on a poster some Kenyan girls 
 were holding in protest about the schoolgirl kidnappings in the media, so I thought it was rather strange to see this store facing their Rs around the wrong way, too.

But something that needs to be talked about more than Hollywood's influence in these shootings ... if any, is just what are these kids on?

I saw this TIME magazine article saying,

" Whenever there's a mass shooting or massacre,

But I remember Sir Bob Geldof  having his first hit with a song about a real life female shooter who didn't like Mondays.

And who should be interviewed by Peter Rodger (Elliot's dad) in the one and only true feature film written and directed by Peter Rodger according to IMDB? 

Sir Bob Geldof ... who for the record doesn't believe in God ...

and who would blame Sir Bob after all of the misfortune in his life?
