Off with the Fairies?πŸ§šπŸ‘€

I recently watched the movie
'Fairy Tale: A True Story', which is based on the real little girls who sucked Sir Arthur Conan Doyle into believing their fairy tales, but in this movie the fairies are portrayed as being real -
I've heard of people tripping out on drugs and having fairy and elven experiences, but how real is a hallucination, right?
Fairies, Aliens, DMT, Psychics and Shamans
And I even heard a guy who swears he has seen a Troll like creature that seemed real to him, as a child running a very high temperature, although he seems to believe even crazier stuff than that as an adult running a normal temperature, these days;-)
And now Dr. Bernie Beitman is interviewing people who are into fairies
I think I need a drink now:-)
I hear that a Red Bull might give me wings?
We all like to believe in fairy stories of some kind or another, don't we?

Bob Marley: One Love?🦁🀟😍

I went and saw the movie
'Priscilla' on the weekend and before the movie started a trailer of the new Bob Marley movie was shown, which got me thinking about an old post I wrote about Bob Marley and David Icke back in 2013 -
And I realized that it's only about 2 weeks until Valentine's Day ... I mean Ferris Wheel Day:-)
Happy Birthday Elvis?πŸŽ‚πŸŽ€πŸ₯³
I saw Bob's son Julian play at the Woodford Folk Festival about 10 years ago and wrote about it here in this old post -

Norman Jewison/The End?πŸŽ₯πŸŽ¬πŸ‡

I see that
Norman Jewison passed away in 2024, but in the Year of the Rabbit end of 2024.
Jewison’s career defied easy categorization
Norman Frederick Jewison (July 21, 1926January 20, 2024)
I'd be lucky if I've seen half of
Norman Jewison's catalogue of films in my lifetime, but 'Fiddler on the Roof', 'Jesus Christ Superstar' and 'Rollerball' are some of my favourites.
And while I have written about 'In the Heat of the Night' before, I'm yet to watch it -
Foul Owl on the Prowl?
I have written about the song 'The Windmills of Your Mind', which featured in another one of his films, which I have not seen, called 'The Thomas Crown Affair' -
The Windmills of My Mind
And on an eerie synchromystic note, when I went to see Kate Ceberano's book talk at the end of last year, she was trying to remember the title of the song 'The Windmills of Your Mind' for some reason, and she has starred in the Australian stage musical of the 'Jesus Christ Superstar' movie.
What do they say about art and life again?-)

Listening to a Novel by Philip K. Dick on UBIK Tube?πŸ’» πŸ’°πŸ’ΈπŸ€‘

Finally, a
PKD novel that might actually be worth reading/listening to?
Well, from what I have heard said about the book on other podcasts and reviews.
Listening Instructional Educational Services or LIES Inc.?πŸ’»πŸ€
I'm about 2 hours in on that 7 hour You Tube audiobook of the novel above and so far, I'm liking it.
ubiquitous
I like how Dick takes the piss out of the greed of modern capitalism and modern technology, and how everyone in the future is trying to milk the last cent out of the consumer ... pretty much like Google and You Tube try to, and greedy podcasters always asking for your donation instead of buying that (probably stale anyway?) cup of coffee, and/or putting up a pay wall, so you have to pay a monthly fee to open the podcast door HAL;-)

Yowies, Sharks and Rugby League ... What Are the Odds?πŸ‰πŸ₯š

I personally don't believe in Yowies or Bigfoots, but I found a create full of NRL Yowie eggs on the shelf of my local supermarket and being a bit of a gambler decided to buy one and see if I could land a Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks Yowie first time.
I didn't though.
I ended up with a Penrith Panthers Yowie.
Australian Mint and Australia Post Release Yowie Coins?
But in the yellow plastic egg was a picture of all 17 Yowies there was to collect, so at least I had an image in my mind what I was after now, as far as the Cronulla-Sutherland Shark Yowie I was after for the next time I went shopping for one.
Just wishful thinking, you say?-)
And as luck, or psychic skill would have it, on my second attempt I placed an image of the Cronulla-Sutherland Shark Yowie I was after in my mind and moved my hand of the top of the dozen or so eggs that were on the top row of the box, and stopped over the top of the one I thought would have the Yowie I was after.
My Happiest Birthday Ever
And when I got home, I found out that my "guess" was right:-)
Which goes to prove that every now and then you can be lucky -

Reading and Watching 'The Island of Dr. Moreau' from a 2024 Perspective?🌊🏝

Having just read/listened to H. G. Wells' book 'The Island of Dr. Moreau' and watched the two movies of the same name for the first time in my life, it seems rather creepy how far science has come from Wells' day to the year 2024, especially when I think back to 2019 posts I wrote, like this one -
The 1977 film was the better of the two films, but still somewhat unfaithful to the book, which is kind of ironic when we hear how unfaithful H.G. Wells was in his marital affairs:-)
I could just imagine Wells writing 'The Island of Dr. Epstein':-P
The 1996 movie was like watching a movie written by someone who had read the book and then licked a toad's back for the DMT trip and then wrote the screenplay.
I'd recommend giving them a watch, if you have read the book, but watch them for free on the internet like I did on You Tube or one of the You Tube knockoff sites.
Whatever you do, don't follow
the white rabbit
in this movie>;-)
Apparently, the 1996 film was cursed according to this doco below that I watched.
Which just goes to show that sigils can backfire badly ... that's if they even work at all, right Gordo;-)
Well, that's one more book off my must-read list ... before I die:-)
Thank God that 'The Invisible Man' didn't make the list ... maybe just some oversight by the editors of 1001 Books ... ?-)
So many books and such little time to read them all, right?-)
H. G. Wells and The Time Machine?πŸ•š⏰πŸ•›
I just realized after listening to a free audiobook of 'The Island of Dr. Moreau' that I had bought the book from a secondhand bookstore months ago, plus I see that I have bought two copies of 'What Alice Forgot':-(
Alice isn't the only forgetful person, it seems:-)

UPDATE: February 7, 2024
I found this rather recent review in the You Tube above of the book and 3 movie versions.

Black Night White Light ... 90 Seconds to Midnight?⏰πŸ•›πŸ‘»

"The Doomsday Clock has been set to 90 seconds to midnight for the second year in a row, reflecting the “unprecedented danger” the world faces."

What's in a Name?πŸŒ€πŸ‘‘πŸŒ

I see that Meghan and Harry are in trouble (according to newspaper reports) with the late Queen over naming their daughter 'Lilibet'.
Just weeks after a royal race row – triggered by
 the
US-based couple – identified King Charles
and Kate, they’ve quietly gotten in touch
Cyclone Kirrily is expected to be declared
today
and rapidly intensify to a severe category
three
system as it moves towards the
Queensland coast
I also saw in the news that a tropical cyclone named Kirrily is heading for the Queensland coast just in time for Australia Day, and I was wondering how the BOM come up with these names.
Apparently, they have about five lists of names, with the current list showing the upcoming names of future cyclones.
Ironically, after this cyclone passes the next will be named 'Cyclone Lincoln' and then 'Cyclone Megan'.
I wonder if 'Cyclone Megan' (even without the h) will hit Australia or turn out to just be full of hot air?-)
Naming tropical cyclones
There is even a cyclone down further in the list named Paul:-)
And one further down named after John's
little boy (and my little boy) Sean:-P
I don't see Julian on those lists, though;-)

Is The Door in The Wall by H G Wells a Ghost Story or Sci-Fi?πŸ‘»πŸ“•⚛πŸšͺ

I've been listening to H.G.Wells' short stories after writing this post -
And I found the same short story on a ghost story podcast and a Sci-Fi podcast, so which is it?
The Door in the Wall by H. G. Wells
I found it rather eerie that the Sci-Fi podcast uploaded the podcast episode on my birthday last year:-)
And I couldn't help thinking of my "owld mate" Mike Clelland with his door metaphor, which I wrote about in these old posts -
Pareidolia, Owls, Synchronicity and March the 6th?
And on the subject of birds, doors and time machines, here is a podcast episode (above) of PKD's that I listened to a while back, since I'm reading PKD stories at present, which Mike might relate to;-)
