The Dead Life Podcast: Answering Your Questions?

I was half listening to the most recent 'The Dead Life' podcast which I was finding rather ho hum until around about the 36 minute mark of the podcast where Allison takes one final listener question and Christiana tells about her father's passing away in a coma 3000 miles away and hearing his voice just before he died and all of the owls that showed up in her life afterward.

Then Allison and Joe talk about all kinds of birds that have turned up in their own lives, as well as other lives who Allison has done readings for.

Of course I thought of Mike Clelland the "Owl Guy" and how he would love listening to the end of this podcast featuring all of the owl talk, and that maybe Mike should consider having a chat to Allison and Joe on his 'The Unseen' podcast?

As soon as I thought about whether or not I should tell Mike about this podcast I looked down at my iPad which had gone to the locked screen, and I saw the time was 12:34 pm, and I know how much the number sequence 1234 means to Mike:-) 

I guess that is a sign in itself that maybe I should tell Mike about this podcast episode?-)

The start of ‘Wish You Were Here’ has got a bit of mythology around various cables being taken out of studios and running to cars and running back again. 

The start of that track…
“The track was supposed to be imitating the sound of a car, music being played coming out of the radio. 

We did actually run a microphone out into my car in the car park in the front of Abbey Road.
“I just twiddled with the dial, we recorded some stuff just twiddling with the dial and the changing of stations and used a bit of it all on ‘Wish You Were Here.’

These strange things that happen, it’s the weirdest synchronicity that you get, those strange voices saying weird things.

“And then we did it again on [1979’s] ‘The Wall’ album, exactly the same thing. 

You know you’re going to get something fantastic."

I was listening to 'The Mystical Underground' podcast featuring the film maker David Strabala talking about how he made his synchronicity movie with the help of a sound engineer named

David Lynn Gilmore, and being a bit of a Pink Floyd fan I couldn't help but think of David Gilmour from the band and some of the weird synchronicities surrounding the making of some of their records.

Fairuza Balk

Bob in a comment below tells me that Fairuza Balk, star of

Return to Oz, is engaged/married to Steve Gilmour, son of David, which I didn't know, but find interesting on a synchromystic level if it is true.

I looked up her work on IMDB and Wikipedia to find that Fairuza is now starring in the TV show 'Paradise City' which has a tagline of "Rock&Roll is Where God and the Devil Shake Hands" which also reminds me that Fairuza Balk starred in the ending of Jake Kotze's synchromystic video 'ARMED With a DREAM: Peace of Me' which also heavily featured the band 'Guns N' Roses' while on the subject of "Paradise City";-)

I might have to check out 'Paradise City' for myself?

I've not met Rick or read his books yet, but I like his take on feeling like an alien put on Earth to report back about the weird human animal which inhabits this seemly doomed planet.

Warner Bros has revealed the first trailer for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, and it promises to be as wacky and irreverent as you’d expect from the director of The Guardians of the Galaxy.
With an absolutely stacked cast including Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Viola Davis, Peter Capaldi and Michael Rooker, the trailer for the DC movie gives fans a taste of what’s to come when the film is released on August 5 in Australia.
There’s going to be quips, dick jokes, a King Shark that goes nom nom on a human snack, Harley Quinn’s (totally justified) promise of death if she finds out you have personalised licence plates, and Pete Davidson wearing orange crocs.

Oh, and a kaiju.

I was sorry to see in that news story that Troy's father took his own life in 2019 after suffering two strokes.

To be honest I'd probably do the same thing in his shoes.

I remember meeting Troy when I sat with my eldest son at a premier screening of Simon Baker's movie 'Breath' a few years back, and he and his wife Laurel having a good old laugh throughout the movie right behind us (in the funny bits, that is).

I see that Simon's 29 year marriage came to an end this year, so out of all of us Troy, you are the last married man standing ... for better, or for worse;-)
