Night at the Phoenix Opera

On the night of January 31st this year I attended the Brisbane Convention Centre to watch an Opera staged by China's Grand Phoenix Opera Company.

At $55 for my ticket, I got one of the best seats in the house.

The Brisbane Convention Centre was where the G20 was held last year and as you can see in the above photo there were still clowns hanging around in the centre;-)

I had never been to a show where the audience was invited up on to the stage at the end to meet the performers and have their photos taken with them if you wanted to.

No synchronicities to report on the night, but last week there was food poisoning of attendees at a conference at the BCC reported in the news -

Brisbane's Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC), as health authorities continue to investigate an incident in which hundreds of Queensland Education employees fell sick.

About 250 people reported gastro-intestinal symptoms following a school principals' conference which was attended by about 1,200 delegates from around the state on February 26 and 27, according to Queensland Health.
Now it has emerged there was an outbreak of food poisoning among people who attended a conference at the site a week earlier.
It is understood at least 10 people became sick during a Fundraising Institute of Australia conference, with five of them diagnosed with salmonella, including the conference chairwoman."
 I had a great night out and maybe it was a good thing I only had a beer on the night? 
At least my food didn't rise up like the Phoenix the next day;-)
