What Do the Words GUItar and GUIde Dog have in Common? ðŸŽļðŸĶŪ😎

April 30th
When I was writing my post this morning about 'International Jazz Day' I went to put a guitar emoji into the title of the blogpost and started to type in the emoji search bar 'GUI ...' and a guitar and a guide dog emoji came up and I realized it was 'International Guide Dog Day' today, as well:-)
April 30th
The guitar was for Darryl Jones, the bassist for The Rolling Stones, Miles Davis, Madona and Sting -
I'm more into
Blues than Jazz, and my favourite guitarist is Bruce Springsteen, and all this made me think of the blind singer Ray Charles and the song 'Shake a Tail Feather' out of 'The Blues Brothers' movie.
Bruce, Ray and I all share September 23rd as our birthday:-)

I don't know whether my mind is a rabbit hole or a sink hole sometimes>:-)
Or is it>?-)

The Beauty of the Word SERENDIPITY?🊄 📖

I found a 'Monsters in the Morning' podcast episode titled 'The Beauty of the Word SERENDIPITY' last night when I put just the word 'SERENDIPITY' into the Apple Podcasts search bar.
So, I had a listen to the episode, which was a radio show based in Orlando, Florida recorded on April 18th, 2025, and was mainly about one of the hosts named Russ Ray Rollins who had written a children's book for his grandson, which was illustrated by his late sister's daughter (his niece) and there was a book signing being held on April 30th (today) at Shipley Donuts.
I also found this 600th podcast episode of 'Passion Struck' titled 'Serendipity' that was released on the 18th of April 2025, as well.

SERENDIPITY
The Story Behind “Emmitt Atlas Goes to Dreamland
Written by Russ Ray Rollins
Illustrated by Aubrey Colbert
The hosts of the
'Monsters in the Morning' podcast show go on to have a discussion about food, AI and meaningful coincidences and settle on the word 'SERENDIPITY' to describe some fortunate random events that helped put the book together.
As I'm thinking that
'SERENDIPITY' is a word I don't see or hear that often, I go back to reading my book and there it is on the next page:-)

National Oatmeal Cookie Day Falls on International Jazz Day? 🍊😋🎚ðŸŽļ

April 30th
"Considered by many to be one of the healthiest cookies of all, the classic Oatmeal Cookie offers sustenance to a hungry clan, while also addressing the vital needs of that pervasive sweet tooth. Crispy or chewy, glazed or fruity, and often enjoyed with a glass of milk, oatmeal cookies are versatile and fun to make as well as to eat.
National Oatmeal Cookie Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the deliciousness of all cookies, but especially this one made with yummy oats and often juicy raisins.
Invite some friends to join and get started celebrating
National Oatmeal Cookie Day in a variety of fun ways!"

ANZAC Day and the Care of the Dead?ðŸŠĶ
I'm down to my last 3 Anzac biscuits, plus crumbs, and since they are pretty much just an oatmeal cookie, what better day than today to finish them off with my morning cup of coffee?
Even the book that I bought last week and am reading now (Curlews on Vulture Street) starts off with the young Darryl Jones running into his childhood kitchen following the smell of freshly baking Anzac bikkies:-)
April 26th
I guess timing is everything when you pick a book to read?
The Subway Anzac Biscuit
"The Anzac biscuit is a sweet biscuit, popular in Australia and New Zealand, made using rolled oats, flour, sugar, butter (or margarine), golden syrup, baking soda, boiling water and optionally desiccated coconut. Anzac biscuits have long been associated with the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) established in World War I.
It is thought that these biscuits were sent by wives and women's groups to soldiers abroad because the ingredients do not spoil easily and the biscuits kept well during naval transportation.
Anzac biscuits should not be confused with hardtack, which was nicknamed "ANZAC wafers" in Australia and New Zealand.
Anzac biscuits are an explicit exemption to an Australian ban on commercial goods that use the term "Anzac", so long as they are sold as "biscuits" and not "cookies"."
"
As a result of the restrictions on the recipe, the Subway chain of restaurants dropped the biscuit from their menu in September 2008. After being ordered by the Department of Veterans' Affairs to bake the biscuits according to the original recipe, Subway decided not to continue to offer the biscuit, as they found that their supplier was unable to develop a cost-effective means of duplicating the recipe. In April 2025, the biscuit returned to the Subway menu."

How many days can you celebrate in one day?
131 - In Conversation with Darryl Jones
 - Synchronicity
I also stumbled across a "synchronicity" podcast featuring Darryl Jones, but not the bird guy, this
Darryl Jones is a bassist who has played with Miles Davis, Sting, Madona and The Rolling Stones
131 - People say Jazz SUCKS
We say it changed our LIVES!
131 - In Conversation with Darryl Jones
 - Synchronicity
I notice that there are two different SBL podcasts, both numbered 131.
One featuring Darryl Jones and one about people saying jazz sucks:-)
I guess there are not only "book angels"
but also "podcast angels"?-)

How to Celebrate Viral Video Day?ðŸ“đðŸ“žðŸ“ąðŸ“ē

April 29th
What is the definition of a "viral video" I wondered when seeing that today is Viral Video Day?
Would a You Tube video that has only 4.9 million views over 9 years, like this one above, be considered "viral"?
Being one of the guys involved in helping to put that video together, I'd like to think so.
And to think it will be 10 years old this July, too.
BACK TO THE FUTURE predicts 9/11
You Tube have sure done their best in hiding this video (in plane sight;-) over the years in their search engines, not knowing what to make of it.
I wonder if it will still be up on You Tube on the 10th anniversary of BTTF Day in October?

Danke Schoen Las Vegas?🚗🎰ðŸĶĐ

Vegas is a strange town to me ... but then so is life, I reckon.
When I got back from America, someone had donated some CDs to the op shop I work at, and one of those CDs was a Human Nature CD called 'Human Nature Las Vegas ... Songs from Sin City' and one song I saw among the tracks listed was 'Danke Schoen', so I bought it, as 'Danke Schoen' is sung in the movie 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off', which I watched on the plane on my flight to America on Carpe Diem Day -
Carpe Diem Day: Do Something Out of the Ordinary? 🌏ðŸ›Ŧ🌎
I also bought
a secondhand Christopher Cross CD in LA, as the flamingo was one of my motivating signs for going to America ... and Singapore ... this Year of the Snake.

I guess the Shark was, too ... but not for Singapore;-)
Match Day in Vegas 2025: The Sharks vs The Panthers?🏉ðŸĶˆðŸˆðŸˆðŸŽē
Wayne Newton
is the singer that really made
'Danke Schoen' a big hit and he is still playing Vegas, not that I went and saw him when I was in Vegas.
Wayne Newton playing The Flamingo?!
And he was playing in The Flamingo when I was there, I saw.
If I had have had more time in Vegas, I may have bought tickets to see Wayne's show, as I doubt I would get that chance again, even if I go back to Vegas in the near future for some reason.
That's life, I guess?

Willie Nelson’s Current Incarnation is Nearly Over?ðŸŠķ👞

92 is an impressive age for a man to reach and Willie is still going strong it seems?
But what a life he has lived so far.
