How to Celebrate National Paranormal Day? ๐Ÿ•ฏ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ‘ป

I see that today is 'National Paranormal Day', so I thought it might be the right time to read a book I found at the Op Shop recently, which has been on top of my filing cabinet to my right almost begging me to read it.
I've written about this book before but haven't really had a chance to buy or read it until now.
The Believer: Encounters with Love, Death & Faith ... Ghosts, UFOs, Heaven and the Devil?
I only decided to start reading 'The Believer' when I started watching Gordon White's You Tube above where he does the Gayest thing he could think of by starting his video off by holding a lit red dick candle.
Me being a straight guy thought to myself I'd be holding the opposite of that candle, and I looked down and saw the cover of Sarah's book and thought, is that a subliminal female shaped candle on the cover of her book ... or is that just my apophenia
kicking in?-)
So, thanks Gordon for your Gay intro, or that book would have probably been laying on my filing cabinet unread for months:-)
Or should I be thanking the "Book Angel" instead?-)

The Kentucky Derby in 2026, The Year of The Fire Horse?๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ†

The Kentucky Derby is run on the first Saturday in May, but because Australia is a day ahead of most of America, I watched it live on Sun Day:-)
Sun Day Falls on a Sunday This Year?⛅๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŒž
Every May 3rd
I would have loved to be over there to watch it at the track, but such is life.
Golden Tempo wins
Kentucky Derby 2026
I see that Golden Tempo won the race and that it was the first time a female trainer trained the winner.
Why Great White was scratched
I don't know why the mention of Great White being scratched from the Kentucky Derby makes me think of my Harry Potter Day post from yesterday?-)

Sun Day Falls on a Sunday This Year?⛅๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŒž

Sun Day is celebrated every May 3rd, and according to my lunar Chinese wall calendar that's today, which happens to be Sunday:-)

How to Celebrate National Start Seeing Monarchs Day on International Harry Potter Day? ๐Ÿช„๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿ•๐Ÿงน

I watched
'Pizza Movie' today, which stars Daniel Radcliffe (AKA Harry Potter) as the voice of Lysander Featherhelm, Lord of the Syracuse Meadows, and the Butterfly:-)
And with today being 'National Start Seeing Monarchs Day' as well as International 'Harry Potter Day', I found that amusing:-)
'Pizza Movieis a funny movie, but in a weird way, not so much as in a LOL funny movie.
I would have been disappointed paying money to see this movie at the cinema, but as a movie on a streaming service that I'm already subscribed to, I guess it was OK and worth a look on that level.
I'm not really into Harry Potter, but I do have a Harry Potter figure holding an owl right next to a painting I bought of a magician holding a crow.
I like crows more than I like owls, and when I saw that painting, I thought that if I grew a beard like the one that guy has in the painting, we would almost be dead ringers
But I'm not into magick (or drugs like Ayahuascalike my old mate Gordon White is over there in Paraguay in this You Tube below ... or candles such as the one he is holding in that You Tube.
Maybe
Gordo just needs some good pizza?-)
Happy International Harry Potter Day:-)

UPDATE: May 4th, 2026
When I was watching Gordon's 'Omen Logic' You Tube, a You Tube video suggested in the sidebar was this one above about the passing of Peter J. Carroll, which was news to me, so I watched it, only because I've been using his apophenia quote at the bottom of my blog for years.
I've never read any of Peter J. Carroll's books and only ever really heard of him through listening to Gordon's Rune Soup podcast and reading Gordo's blog of the same name back in the day.
The main reason I have the quote at the bottom of my blog is because Joe Alexander named his You Tube productions A
pophenia, and that was the only quote about the word I could find at the time.

To me "Chaos magicians" are a bit of a joke, when it comes to being tied to the subject of "synchromysticism" and I've been taking the piss out of their superstitious practice for years.
Still, it's sad hearing about the passing of Peter J. Carroll.
#67, Nine Perfect Strangers and the Promise & Peril of Psychedelics ... and Maybe Just Some Apophenia in the Mix as Well?-)

What Makes an Australian an Aussie?๐ŸŒ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿฆ˜๐ŸŽญ๐Ÿ–Œ๐ŸŽจ

I was looking at some recent pictures from the
Bondi Observer website and saw the posters in the above photo and remembered the first time I ever saw a Peter Drew poster pasted to an outside wall in Hobart in 2016 and thinking, "what's this all about?" -
Rolf Harris and his art
Most
Australians are a mongrel breed when it comes to DNA, like myself, who has about 16 different DNA (and counting?) groups that make me me, according to websites like Ancestry.com.
Even a lot of my Australian "indigenous" mates are mongrel breed too and wouldn't be here now if their "white boat people" ancestors didn't land here a few hundred years ago.

So, what does make an Australian an Aussie, anyway?
