Crow Hitches a Ride on a Bald Eagle
"Incredible images of an animal very casually hitching a ride on another have been captured – this time, a cheeky crow taking a mid-flight pit stop on the back of a majestic bald eagle.
The photographs were captured by California-based Phoo Chan."
Phillip "Phil" Walsh (15 March 1960 – 3 July 2015) was an Australian rules footballer and coach of the Adelaide Crows.

On 3 July 2015, Walsh was found dead in his home in South
Australia with multiple stab wounds.
His son Cy was charged with murder.
Phil Walsh finished his playing career with the Brisbane Bears
(now the Brisbane Lions ... the team I support)
and won their inaugural best and fairest award in 1987.
Oddly, the last game he coached before he was murdered
(no pun intended in regards to murder being a flock of crows)
was against my team the Brisbane Lions
(his old Brisbane Bears club)
up here in Brisbane.
When Dyami (Dyami means eagle in pueblo),
the blogger who posted the photo and link was asked where he lived, he replied ,
"Indiana ... we
have eagles ... but i have never seen one.
I see a hawk almost every
time i leave the house ... especially if i'm walking or on a bike."
I wrote back,
"The Crows have been in the news all day over here in Australia, because of a murder".
"The Crows have been in the news all day over here in Australia, because of a murder".
Cy Walsh, charged with murdering father, Adelaide Crows coach Phil Walsh, sedated during bedside hearing
It's
darkly synchronistic that the Friday night July 4th AFL game was between two bird themed teams, the Hawks and
the Magpies, and they offered a heartfelt gesture of solidarity and
support to the murdered Adelaide Crows coach on the night.
This game was
already scheduled before Walsh's murder by the way.
The Crows game for that weekend against Geelong was canceled.
But the following week and the Crows first game back since the passing of Phil Walsh was against the West Coast Eagles, of all teams.
The Adelaide Crows and West Coast Eagles honour Phil Walsh. |
Wow! And very strange.
