Poster on the wall of the Brunswick Heads Hotel |
The Brunswick Heads Hotel is one of my favourite pubs in all Australia and rarely fails to chill me with a synchronicity when I visit.

For instance, before I left home, I saw that an old post of mine was getting a fair few hits.
That post was -
Six Degrees of St. Elmo's Fire
And what song should be playing as I set foot inside the beer garden?
Man in Motion, the theme song from the movie St. Elmo's Fire, which I haven't heard for quite a while now.
The Round Mountain Girls
Robert also mentions in game #12 of 'Sidewalk Oracles' his 'Dreaming Like an Egyptian' course, which reminded me of The Round Mountain Girls song cover of 'Walk Like an Egyptian' in the You Tube below.
I thought, "you've gotta be jokin' me?!"
Brunswick Heads Hotel billboard of coming bands |
"A celebration of all that it is to be alive and free in the world today,
OKA draws upon their indigenous connection to place and country through music.
Their signature sound is an irresistible blend of influences spanning house, big beat, reggae-dub, Roots, Jazz and world music.
A rhythm based sonic tapestry crossing cultural boundaries, embracing the future without losing sight of the past."
Well, if I don't go to Sydney that weekend then you know where I'll be.
Then I walk around the corner to come across a shop called The Big Fish, and out front is the script in book form of Eyes Wide Shut (one of my favourite movies) plus, colour film stills in the middle, all for $5.

Eyes Wide Shut book that I bought for $5, Monday in Brunswick Heads |
I had only just read about the Prometha comic books in Jeff Kripal's Mutants and Mystics, thinking that I would never be able to read them, as they are out of print.

This picture reminded me of the New World Library logo on the book |
The logo of the New World Library that published 'Sidewalk Oracles'. |
UPDATE: 5th April, 2016.
Page 91 of 'Sidewalk Oracles' mentions Robert's Big Fish walk and the movie 'Big Fish'. |
And if you read my post about Nicole Kidman's father passing away on the same day that Joe Sample (the guy who wrote 'One day I'll Fly Away', the song Nic sings in the movie Moulin Rouge, which also stars Ewan McGregor) did then you would have to agree that me finding that book of
'Eyes Wide Shut' (a movie starring Nicole Kidman) in the Big Fish shop is kind of spooky and synchy at the same time.

Also, on page 91 Robert write about a couple who had a carload of goods and were either moving in or moving out.
The young couple in the Big Fish shop were setting up the shop, as they were just moving in, because when I asked Jase about the other Prometha comics that make up the set, he said he still had to unpack them from the back of the shop, which was a mess at the moment, as they had just moved in and were setting the shop up.
I think he said the Eyes Wide Shut book was his partner Juliet's (she sounded like she had a French accent to me) book and it was sitting on the same shelf as the comics at the time I found them.
