I went to see a one-off screening of the Anthony Quinn movie Zorba the Greek last Sunday at the Hawthorne cinemas and when I was booking my tickets for the movie on the cinema's homepage I saw the above news story about Triumph, the painting by Anthony Quinn being stolen on 14th November 2015.
Triumph, the painting by Anthony Quinn at the Hawthorne cinemas |
It really lived up to its name to see the painting triumphantly hanging back on the wall.

The movie came out the year I was born (1964) and that was the first time I have seen it, and hopefully the last time, too.
Unlike the returned painting, that was two hours of my life that I will never get back again.
gYou'll het those two years back when you watch a movie that you love.
ReplyDeleteGlad the painting made it home!
We make our own history as we go.... it's great to see "Triumph" back in its rightful place at the Complex Hawthorne... and what Anthony Quinn decreed, let no man cast asunder!!
