Triumph as the Painting by Anthony Quinn Returns

I went to see a one-off screening of the
Anthony Quinn movie
Zorba the Greek last Sunday at the Hawthorne cinemas and when I was booking my tickets for the movie on the cinema's homepage I saw the above news story about Triumph, the painting by Anthony Quinn being stolen on 14th November 2015.

I was glad to see that the painting was back in its rightful place last Sunday when I attended the screening of Zorba the Greek.
It really lived up to its name to see the painting triumphantly hanging back on the wall.

I have to admit though that I enjoyed seeing the painting much more than I did seeing the movie.
The movie came out the year I was born (1964) and that was the first time I have seen it, and hopefully the last time, too.
Unlike the returned painting, that was two hours of my life that I will never get back again.

  1. gYou'll het those two years back when you watch a movie that you love.

Glad the painting made it home!

  2. We make our own history as we go.... it's great to see "Triumph" back in its rightful place at the Complex Hawthorne... and what Anthony Quinn decreed, let no man cast asunder!!
