Interstellar Syncs

Oops!
That's better.
I went to see this movie on Saturday at my local cinema, and before it screened an advert which has been playing around the country (Australia) for the last few months was shown.

I always thought it was a strange ad for Adelaide tourism to make, but considering the events over the last few weeks and the release of the movie 'Interstellar' on November 7th my jaw dropped at the coincidences I saw in current events that have unfolded and this clip showcasing Adelaide.
The name Adelaide is a baby girl name.
French Meaning:
The name Adelaide is a French baby name

In French the meaning of the name Adelaide is
Nobility.
French form of the Old German Adalheidis, a compound of
'athal' (noble) and 'haida' (hood)
Adelaide, the capital of South Australia
was named after Queen Adelaide
19th century King William IV's consort.

The Adelaide ad starts off with a space girl (Virgin?) falling from the sky.

The song used for the Adelaide ad is 'Never Tear Us Apart' by the Aussie band INXS.

And of course, the Virgin spacecraft tore apart on its 55th test flight on Friday the 31st October 2014... or Halloween, as the day is referred to in The United States.

Also used in the Adelaide commercial is a
DeLorean sports-car, like the one out of 'Back to the Future'.
Both movies, 'Interstellar' and 'Back to the Future' are about time travel.

And what date does Fox travel back to in BTTF?

By God's providence he was catch'd (or by God's mercy*)

And what should we do with him? Burn him!

I also noticed two church towers in the commercial (twin towers?).
Twin towers?
ON NOVEMBER 3rd the first office workers moved into One World Trade Centre, a new skyscraper built on the site of the 2001 terrorist attacks in Manhattan.
Around 170 employees of CondΓ© Nast, a media company, moved into the building, whose height of 1,776 feet (541 metres) symbolises the date of America's declaration of independence.
The building has dethroned the Willis Tower in Chicago as North America's tallest skyscraper, but still looks up to others in the battle to be the world's loftiest.

Also, at the end of the cinema commercial, which is not in the You Tubeit says to contact Virgin Australia for holiday packages from your capital city.

The song "Never Tear Us Apart" was used in the opening sequence of the director's cut of the 2001 cult film, Donnie Darko
Also a film about time travel.
It would have been featured in the original release had the rights for it not been deemed too expensive by the producers.
("The Killing Moon" by Echo & the Bunnymen served as its replacement.)

Donnie Darko

It just seems like one big rabbit-hole ...
I mean wormhole to me;-)
P.S.
After his death in 1997 (by hanging), Michael Hutchence's coffin was carried out of St. Andrews Cathedral by the remaining members of INXS and younger brother Rhett, as "Never Tear Us Apart" was played in the background.
This song is now thought of by many original INXS fans as Hutchence's anthem.

The official coroner's report was released this November about the hanging death of Robin Williams, as well.
Los Angeles (AFP) - Robin Williams had recently become more paranoid when he committed suicide by hanging himself, coroners said Friday, adding that he had no alcohol or illicit drugs in his system.
There were also signs that the comic actor -- who had recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease -- had tried to cut his left wrist, according to an autopsy report.
No suicide note or other indication that he planned to take his own life was found at the scene, it said.
The 63-year-old, known for high-energy, rapid-fire improvisation and clowning, was found dead on August 11 at his home in Marin County, north of San Francisco.
The coroner for Marin County, Robert Doyle, said the investigation into his death had concluded, giving the cause as

"asphyxia due to hanging"
and the manner of death as "suicide."
"Toxicological evaluation revealed the absence of alcohol or illicit drugs. Prescription medications were detected in therapeutic concentrations," it added in a brief statement.
"His prior medical history reportedly included depression, Parkinson's Disease and a recent increase in paranoia," said a longer coroners' report, which was obtained by AFP.
The report included other details about Williams' medical history, including that he had shown symptoms of Parkinson's since 2011, including a left arm tremor and slowing of left hand movements.

He was diagnosed with the disease in November 2013.

UPDATE: 12/11/14
I didn't realize that Robin Williams was in a Christopher Nolan film until yesterday, even though I did see this movie when it came out in 2002.
Nolan was yet to hit the Hollywood highs and he only had Memento under his belt when this movie came out.
Anyone who has been following this blog also knows that I'm fascinated by the
"Six Degrees of Separation" theory as well.
Walter Finch: (Robin Williams) "You forgot the wild card, Will."
Wild Card?
Insomnia is a re-make of a Norwegian film of the same name.
Also, if you have seen the movie 'Interstellar', check out Emma Louise's first major film clip from 2011 that launched her music career.
Eerie parallels to 'Interstellar' with the bookcase and sand "messages" and a few other things, don't you think

  2. If you see the film Mike, take note of the length of a day and night on Mann's (Matt Damon) planet.
    I think you'll get a kick
    out of it ;-)

  4. It's all sync'ing! How weird for them to use an astronaut for the Adelaide ad. As soon as all this 'space/astronaut' imagery began to pop up everywhere pre-Interstellar, you knew something was 'happening' - as it was happening (so to speak) AND it's still flowing along nicely, not quite calmed down yet!

What else is in store I wonder?
