How to Celebrate National Book Month While Watching CARRiE During National Fire Prevention Month?πŸ“–πŸͺΊπŸ”₯πŸš’πŸ§―

Every October
Jake Kotze made the connection in his You Tube video above about the book 'The Catcher in the Rye' being read by a main character in the new 'CARRiE' TV series and the Stanley Kubrick version of Stephen King's 'The Shining', but I also noticed another book which connects Kubrick's 'The Shining' and Mike Flanagan's version of 'CARRiE', in the screenshot above from the 'CARRiE' TV series among the stack of library books Carrie has in front of her.
Oh, and Mike Flanagan was born in 1978, the Year of the Horse;-)
Ironically, I notice that today is 'National Alaska Day' and that another of the books in Carrie's library pile is the John Green book 'Looking for Alaska':-)

How to Celebrate Adventure Day?🏊🐳

I can't say that I'm too adventurous when it comes to the ocean.
And the most adventurous thing I did today was to brave the rain to go up to Springfield to see the three cups the Lions have won over the last 3 years, and to watch the Lions AFLW team play Port Adelaide, before walking across the road to the cinema and watching the movie 'Whalefall' before heading back home to Logan.
And forget all the expensive truck-stop food if you head up to Springfield to see a game, and get the $4 bread and sausage, especially during 'Sausage Month':-)
Every October
And I can't recommend seeing the movie 'Whalefall', as I think it should be retitled 'Whalefall ... Asleep', it was that boring to me;-)

How to Celebrate National Playing Card Collection Day? ♠🩷♣πŸ”ΆπŸŽ΄

I'm going to celebrate
'National Playing Card Collection Day' by giving away 3 of my 4 packs of playing cards away to a street library, as I don't play card games, and those 3 decks are just gathering dust on my bookshelves.
One pack is not even a real deck, it's just a stage magician's deck for doing tricks on people, from a magic set someone had partly donated to the Op shop I work at, and would have been binned, as we can't sell magic sets where parts of it are missing, just like we can't sell board games or jigsaw puzzles with missing pieces.
Same with the Sinaporeair.com cards, we can't sell free promotional material like that, and I bought them as a goal at the time to fly Sinaporeair to Singapore, as a "bucket list" goal, which I now have, so don't need the cards anymore.
The only set of playing cards I'll keep around the home now in my foreseeable future are these playing cards above, which while a functional deck of playing cards, have pictures of places to visit in Australia, so it's kind of a playing deck I can keep if guests pop by and we decide to play a card game, but mainly it's a "bucket list" of places that I still have to visit, or visit again in my future, if I get the chance, before kicking the bucket.
Happy 'National Playing Card Collection Day' if that's your thing, but I'm not a collector of playing cards.
