Photos of the 2014 Bangalow Billy-cart Derby Day Through My Camera Lens

The weather wasn't looking too
promising at first, but it cleared up
I took a heap of pictures on Bangalow Billycart Derby Day 2014, so rather than tell a story about the day, I'll just let the pictures talk for themselves.
I have already written a few related posts in the last few weeks on this blog anyway, so where necessary I'll just add a caption to explain what the photo is about.
The photos are going to be pretty much in the order I took them on the day.

I'm not into Christianity, but I did find my visit to this little church at the end of the day quite a peaceful experience.
I love sitting in silence and pondering the big questions of life.
Well, I have to say that it turned out to be quite a heavenly day after all:-)

  1. Looks like fun! You've got some great photos here. And a pone booth? I haven't seen one of those in years!

  2. For some reason, I started counting the windows toward the end of the post. You have quite a terrific inroad to the peace and tranquility at the end of the post - and the day.

  3. Great pictures which give a real flavour of the day. I liked the classic VW Camper vans - we see quite a few in Cornwall heading for the surfing beaches.

As for the billy-carts we used to call them dillies (or maybe it's spelt dilly's)

All in all looks to be a fun day.

The feelings / atmosphere you get in churches is usually quite special.

  5. VAN67K - hadn't noticed - how about that!!

Years ago my friend (IAN !) had a VW Camper and I was always envious of the idea of the open road. They fetch a good price in the UK nowadays.

  7. I also meant to say that there was also a picture of a VW Camper on the Fathers Day card I received.
