Around the time that George Negus passed away I was given some money from someone who had come back from a trip to America.

It was only a quarter, a dime and a penny.

When I looked up George's birthday of March 13th, 1942, there was a paragraph on one of those birthday sites that claimed if you saved a certain coin since March 13th, 1942, you would have X amount of dollars today.

This got me to thinking about the coin toss scene in the movie 'No Country for Old Men'.

And the date that a particular coin was minted.

The date on my dime was 1996, which is the year the Brisbane Lions AFL team were formed:-)

Me and my youngest son have already planned out our trip to the USA and back, and we'll be back in time to watch the 2024 AFL grand final replay at the SCG between the Lions and the Swans ... if all goes to plan.
