I bought this book pictured above in July from an Op Shop but only read it last week in the lead up to Christmas.
It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas in 2024? ðð
ðĪķThe day before I came across the book in July at the Op Shop, I had bought a Christmas hand towel with cats in Santa hats pictured on it from a craft shop, as I was looking for these types of hand towels to use around my home.
In Australia winter is in June, July and August, so a lot of restaurants, cafes and resorts have "Christmas in July" menus and some retailers even try to sell Christmas themed merchandise to cash in on the novelty.
Plus, I consider myself more of a cat person than a dog person anyway.
And oddly enough, the two Shirley MacLaine books I put in that same street library a few weeks back were still there:-)
It would never make the 1001 books you have to read before you die list, but I liked the book as a fun Christmas read and it pointed me in the direction of the book I'm reading now, which I picked up in another street library recently and wrote about in this post -
Synchronicity and The Hidden Hand in Jeremy Vaeni's Word Salad?✋✍⛅ðļðŧðĨðĶThe funny thing is that cats like the one on the book cover have been turning up everywhere I look in the lead up to Christmas:-)
Unlike other Christmas pasts -Dogs Seem to be Reining More Than Cats at the Moment ... at Least in the NewspapersNext year is the Year of the Snake, by the way;-)
And this week the latest 'Vintage Video' podcast episode is about the 1982 movie 'Cat People':-)
I only stumbled across the 'Vintage Video' podcast when writing up this recent post -
The Exorcist Was Inspired by Blatty's Neighbour Shirley MacLaine and Her Daughter?ðŋððšð
