Upton Sinclair's 'The Jungle' is One of the 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die? ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿ„

Having just read/listened to 'The Jungle' I'd put it in my top 100 books you must read before you die, not that I agree with Upton's views 100% or even 70%, but I do agree with him in the majority of his views even if it is only 51%.
And chapter 26 really tried my patience with its racism, especially because I have around 5% Slovak heritage, and my granddaughter is half Slovak
He attacks Greeks, Sicilians, Slovaks and Negroes as being somehow subhuman to whatever he is, and I must admit that this struck a nerve in me, even though being around a quarter Jewish genetically myself I'm used to hearing racist s#it like that, and growing up with Greeks and Sicilians around me from childhood, which felt like they were extended family to me, that chapter really made me want to say "up you Upton", but I get it, it was around 1904, so who am I to judge the ignorance of such a misguided author?
And what is a 'Muckraker'?
Is that like a "conspiracy theorist" of today?
I love how this "so called" journalist above (maybe he is just a
"conspiracy theorist" pretending to be a journalist ?often refers to a Wikipedia entries to back up his claims:-)
what type of journalist relies on Wikipedia for facts?-)
And what does Wikipedia say about 9/11 and JFK Corbett?
Not that I agree with the official stories either, mind you.
Upton Sinclair
I find Upton a very interesting character, so it's a pity that there aren't more reliable biographies or movies about his life.

Conspiracy Theory (1997) - FLNWO #43
I also find it ironic how Corbett's last Apple podcast episode is a 2023 crossover about the 1997 movie 'Conspiracy Theory' starring Mel Gibson:-)
