Last Man Standing?🥇⛸🍻

23 Years to the day Steven Bradbury won a gold medal for Australia in the 1,000 m ice skating event at the 2002 Winter Olympics. 

He was the first athlete from Australia and also the first from the Southern Hemisphere to win a Winter Olympic gold medal, and he was also part of the short-track relay team that won Australia's first Winter Olympic medal, a bronze in 1994.

Just before Australia Day 2025 I walked into a liquor barn in Springwood to buy a carton of Coopers beer and a guy was offering sample cups of a beer called 'Last Man Standing' and told me it was brewed in West End in Brisbane.

I told him to give me a six-pack and I finished the last one I had in the fridge today to celebrate the anniversary of Steve winning gold 23 years ago.

To be honest I had no idea it was the anniversary of that achievement until I started reading the signed book I bought which someone had donated to the op shop I work part time in.
