Today I went and saw the movie 'The Dog Stars' starring Jacob Elordi, who also played the monster in the 2025 NETFLIX movie 'Frankenstein'.

Every August 30th

Today is 'Frankenstein Day':-)

And it's also 'Slinky Day', which reminds me of the 'Slinky Dog' out of the Toy Story movies.

On the subject of yawning in that You Tube above, I thought that 'The Dog Stars' was a big yawn, although my youngest son who saw the movie with me today and has read the book, thought it was great and has seen the movie twice at this point.

I always thought that the 'Slinky Dog' was a made-up toy for the Toy Story movies, as I found this McDonald's 'Slinky Dog' in an Op Shop and wondered how a real 'Slinky Dog' toy would work if you pushed it down the stairs?

I didn't realize that the real toys had wheels for feet and that you dragged them around on a lead and didn't push them down the stairs like a Slinky spring.

I got a Subway on the way home from the cinema, as August is 'National Sandwich Month':-)

When I see the date August 29th, I think of Christopher Knowles unhealthy (but amusing to me) obsession with the Scottish singer Elizabeth Fraser, whose birthday it is today.

Being a day ahead of America here in Australia, I'll bet my bottom dollar that Knowles will have some post about "The Sibyl" ready to bash his followers over the head with for August 29th:-)

I'm going to dress up as a dead superhero like Spiderman today;-)

When I went to bed at around midnight last night, I noticed two new podcast episodes in my 'Up Next' que on my iPad, both to do with the dangers of AI.

I listened to the 'This Jungian Life' one before going to sleep and then the 'Neon Galactic' one when I woke up this morning.

I hadn't heard of Dr. Joanna Kujawa before hearing this podcast, even though she says she is living in my hometown of Brisbane.

Then this afternoon the latest 'God Forbid' podcast episode dropped and I had a listen to it.

Which was good timing, as I had just read this passage below in the current book that I'm now reading, written by the late Brisbane author David Malouf, where the characters in the book are speculating about the soul and consciousness:-)
