Daniel Johnston Plane Crash Sync

"In 1990, Johnston played at a music festival in Austin, Texas.
On the way back to West Virginia on a small, private plane piloted by his father, Johnston became hypomanic and wrestled control of the plane away from his father removing the key from the ignition and throwing it out of the plane.
His father, a World War Two fighter pilot, managed to successfully crash-land the plane in a wooded area.
Although the plane was destroyed, Johnston and his father emerged unharmed.
As a result of this episode, Johnston was involuntarily committed to a mental hospital."
After the crash Daniel and his father pass a "Church of Christ" sign on a church that read,
"God promises a safe landing, but not a calm voyage".
I've been trying to find a picture on the net of Daniel's father standing in front of this sign, as in the documentary
The Devil and Daniel Johnston, but I haven't been able to find one.
I will get a screen shot from the doco and post it here later, when I get a chance.
Daniel's father standing next to the sign after being taken from the crash site.
Stills from the movie The Devil and Daniel Johnston.
"God promises a safe landing, but not a calm voyage"

Very strange. So maybe he knows a thing or two about the devil!

I don't think so.
It was his delusional thinking about the "Devil" that was probably the cause of his breakdown in the first place.
I think he was torn between his fundermentalist upbringing and his own modern ideas that led to his snap...just my opinion.
