The women took to the field not long after high noon for their showdown and the main men's AFL game between my Brisbane Lions and the Gold Coast Suns was to take place well after sundown ... that should have been seen as a bad omen to the Suns supporters;-)

I thought this was rather synchromystic at the time, as I had just bought my tickets for the Lions/Suns clash at the Gold Coast (waves?) to be held Saturday night and the AFL Women's final between the Lions/Crows was going to be held at the same venue Saturday afternoon for free, so I could make a day trip to the Gold Coast and watch Brisbane Lions games from nearly noon until midnight.
Listening to the podcast in the above link reminded me of the post I had written last year -
Shamanism and Footy?
And this one, as well, considering that the Western Bulldogs surprised everyone by winning the 2016 AFL grand final -

Oddly enough, free newspapers were being handed out last Saturday at the Lions/Suns clash, so I took one to read in-between games.
Gold out of thin air ... more or less ... on the Gold Coast beaches?
Sounds rather alchemical to me;-)

"It's just a magical feeling right now," she told Grandstand."

Well Brad your wooden spoon prediction seems to already have soured with the Lions "beating" the Suns last Saturday night, but there is a long way to go until the end of the season, although you know one supporter who'll be giving you the forks at the end of the season if your prediction doesn't eventuate, don't you Brad?
Anyway, I had a great trip to the Gold Coast last Saturday and meeting up with my tribe, even with the Lions just winning one game out of three on the day.
And I have a good feeling about the Women's competition going from strength to strength in the coming years, and I don't need a Toyota symbol in the goal-square or drugs (legal or otherwise) to give me that feeling, either.

The word rubedo, meaning "redness", was adopted by alchemists and signaled alchemical success, and the end of the great work."
I have to say that on a symbolic/shamanic level the Adelaide Crow's women's indigenous jersey with the crow seeming to fly out of the sun was very cool looking ... they probably have the second coolest jersey in the league;-)
Crow Medicine
Much to my disappointment as a Brisbane Lions supporter, the Adelaide Crows won the first ever AFL Women's cup/grail.
And while I'm no fan of the Adelaide Crows as a club, I do love the crow as a kind of shamanic totem animal, which you would know about me if you have been following this blog of mine.

Crow Medicine
"Crow is also the guardian of ceremonial magic and healing.
In any healing circle, Crow is present.
Crow guides the magic of healing and the change in consciousness that will bring about a new reality and dispel "dis-ease" or illness.
You can rest assured when ever crows are around, magic is near by and you are about to experience a change in consciousness.
Crow can give you the courage to enter the darkness of the void, which is the home of all that is not yet in form."

AFLW grand final: Adelaide Crows edge Brisbane Lions by one goal after Erin Phillips masterclass
"Adelaide has won the first AFL Women's premiership, edging Brisbane by a goal in the grand final at Carrara Stadium.
Crows midfielder Erin Phillips was perhaps even more influential than expected in the 4.11 (35) to 4.5 (29) win in front of 15,610 fans.
She was all over the Gold Coast turf, collecting a game-high 28 disposals and kicking two vital goals in the third quarter.

The Olympic rings/Vesica piscis tattoo of Erin Phillips next to the cup?-) |
rings of her Olympic rings tattoo next to the cup couldn't be more femininely symbolic.
The cup/grail is a feminine symbol, more or less representing the womb,"In physical essence the cup in ritual is often crescent shaped.
The cup/grail is a feminine symbol, more or less representing the womb,"In physical essence the cup in ritual is often crescent shaped.
This symbolism links it to the moon, another feminine aspect.
The cup and the great waters of Binah could be perhaps the waters of life which surround an unborn child?
Furthermore a cup or Grail performs a function of a receptacle.
The symbol of the Great Rite in the Book of Shadows depicts a dagger hanging above about to enter into a chalice.
The sexual concepts really need no explanation.
And the Vesica piscis represents much the same thing, "Uses of the shape -- Other uses of the shape include that by some early peoples of the almond-shaped central area as a representation of the female genitals, and the use of a similar (horizontally-oriented) fish symbol called the Ichthys by early Christians.
In Christian art, some aureolas are in the shape of a vertically oriented vesica piscis, and the seals of ecclesiastical organizations can be enclosed within a vertically oriented vesica piscis (instead of the more usual circular enclosure).
The most common modern object based on the vesica piscis is the American football, which resembles the interior almond-shaped area of the vesica piscis swept about its long "axis" to produce a 3D object with rotational symmetry."
As much as I hate to admit it, at the end of the day, the Crows were probably destined to win the final with all of those built in synchromystic/symbolic clues ... and no, I'm not tripping on drugs, nor was I at the game ... apart from a few mid-strength beers.
In fact, I have never used psychedelics in my life before, and am yet to do so.
And on the subject of illegal drugs like psychedelics, I thought it was ironic that the women's final major sponsor was 'Chemist Warehouse', a major warehouse chain of drug stores pushing "Big Pharma"'s legal drugs onto the public.
Oddly enough, as I was putting this post together, I listened to another podcast on shamanism that was only uploaded a day or so ago and it is pretty good, too.
SYNCHRONICITY #76 – MODERN SHAMANISM WITH KELLY NEZAT
Ironically, I ended up sunburned by the time the sun had set, and it was time for the Lions/Suns game.
Because it was cloudy for most of the day, I decided not to wear my hat for quite a while during the daytime hours before the main game started.
But the main game was worth being sunburned for, as my Lions mauled the home team in the first half, so much so in fact that a few Suns "supporters" sitting behind me decided the game was unsalvageable and left the stadium.
Ironically (I've certainly used that word a bit in this post, haven't I?) it was the Suns that would claw their way back against the Lions and just fail to win the match with the Lions winning by two points.
I had a big laugh when I read in my free Gold Coast newspaper that Brad Hicks the deputy sports editor gave his "Wooden Spoon" prediction (the team that would finish the season on the bottom of the table) to the Brisbane Lions.
