I remember seeing 'JAWS' at the cinema as a kid in the 70s and critics of the film saying how rare shark attacks were.

Former professional surfer Tamayo Perry has
 been killed in a shark attack while surfing in Hawaii

But news stories like this one do nothing to quell my fears about hitting the surf.
