Well, if I went with my head today instead of my gut, I wouldn't have eaten half of my birthday cake today, which will probably just go to my gut anyway:-)

The Rainbow by D. H. Lawrence

I'm not a red head, or a Bisexual man when it comes to my sex life, but I did light my cigar with a Redhead match and finished reading D.H. Lawrence's book 'The Rainbow' today.

And I even watched Ken Russell's movie version of D.H. Lawrence's book for the first time in my life today, as I found it on Amazon Prime.

I had started listening to a free Loyal Books reading of D.H. Lawrence's book through Apple Podcasts before I left for America in February this year, because it was one of the 1001 books I was told I had to read before I died, and this book was boring me to death as I listened to it being read by the reader of this podcast.

I started thinking that this was going to be the book I would be still trying to slog my way through when I did die:-)
But the second part of the book did get more interesting as I listened on ... which is not saying much really.

The symbol of the rainbow in D.H. Lawrence's book is obviously meant to be a reference to the rainbow in The Bible's Noah's ark myth, as religion plays a large part in D.H. Lawrence's book.

D.H. Lawrence's book also seems very Freudian in nature when it comes to the sexual themes in the book.

I can't say that I'm a big fan of Freud's theories, but he did do some important early work, and where would Jung be without Freud?

And as for modern day sexual politics, why does everyone need some version of a rainbow flag to march behind to show their sexual preference?

I didn't even know that there was a Bisexual Flag until I found out it was Bisexuality Day today.
