The art of realizing meaningful coincidence in the seemingly mundane with mystical or esoteric significance."

Caught Stealing and Happy Cat Month?👮🚨🚓🐈🐱

I saw the movie 'Caught Stealing' on Wednesday night with my youngest son, who is heading off to New York again soon ... without me.
Caught Stealing is a 2025 American dark comedy crime thriller film produced and directed by Darren Aronofsky from a screenplay written by Charlie Huston, based on his book of the same name.
The last Darren Aronofsky film I tried to see with my youngest son was in Las Vegas at The Sphere, where we had booked tickets for the Friday night we got there, but the screening of 'Postcard from Earthwas cancelled before we left Australia and we had to settle for seeing the Blue Man Group at the Luxor Casino which we were staying at instead, and try as we might that weekend we never got to see Darren Aronofsky's film made for The Sphere.
A Weekend in Vegas at The Luxor? 🎲🎰
The closest we got to seeing
The Sphere was seeing it from our Friday night Ferris Wheel ride.
So, I guess
'Postcard from Earthis still on my Bucket List -
Buckets and Lists? 🪣✍
The only time we could get together to see 'Caught Stealingwas Wednesday night and my son suggested we see it at The Barracks Cinema at 8:15.
Palace Barracks Cinema 2
The Barracks Cinema is on the edge of the Brisbane CBD, so being from Logan City I don't see many movies at The Barracks Cinema.
I think that the last movie I saw here was 'Poor Things', which I wrote about here -

The thing is with seeing a movie here in the shopping complex is that you have to pay to park your car after 2 hours with only a discount on the parking fee after 2 hours if you have a validated movie ticket.
We got there thinking the movie was to start at 8:15 (well, according to the cinema's website and weekly brochure it was) but were told it was to start at 8:45!?
So, there was another half hour of paid parking we hadn't factored in.
Even in the cinema's weekly flyer they couldn't get the name of the movie right:-)
When I suddenly have an extra half hour to kill, I'll pick up and read any old brocher laying around the cinema complex.
And on the subject of cult vault films, this area pictured below was where I met the two stars of '2001: A Space Odyssey' at the 50-year anniversary screening of the film -
The surreal memories of that day came flooding back as I told my son about meeting the 2 stars of '2001: A Space Odysseyas we were looking out the window of the cinema complex over the city's changing skyline on Wednesday night.

Every September 3rd
Wednesday was also 'Skyscraper Day' which got me to thinking about Jake Kotze's short video about the Millenium Hilton in New York city, as I looked out the cinema window seeing all the buildings going up around the city of Brisbane.
"The Millenium Hilton suffered extensive damage from the September 11 attacksAmateur video recorded by a guest (Guy Rosbrook) at the 35th floor of the hotel on that day shows the proximity of the destruction, as well as initial directives from staff to shelter in place before the building was evacuated. The hotel was closed for over 18 months, while it was completely refurbished. It reopened for business on May 5, 2003. The U.S. flag which hung outside the hotel on 9/11 was recovered by hotel workers and is now on display in the lobby.
The hotel was renamed the Millennium Hilton New York Downtown in 2017, using the more conventional spelling. It was, for many years, one of four hotels owned by CDL subsidiary Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, that were not marketed as part of their Millennium Hotels chain. Instead, they were managed by Hilton Hotels Corporation. The others were the Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza, Millennium Hilton Seoul and Millennium Hilton Bangkok. The hotel ceased to be managed by Hilton on January 18, 2022 and was renamed Millennium Downtown New York. In summer 2025, it is set to be renamed M Social Hotel New York Downtown."
Caught Stealing is set around the year 1998, so there are shots of the buildings of that time in the movie, including the Twin Towers.
Being more of a cat person than a dog person, I liked this movie ... but didn't love it.
