Apart from being the start of Chinese/Lunar New Year today, it's also 'Random Acts of Kindness Day', as well as 'National Cabbage Day'.

Every February 17th

Cabbages and lettuce are often associated with the Lion Dance.

Turns out, there’s more to the
lion dance than good fortune

The only cabbage I had around the house on 'National Cabbage Day' was in the jars of sauerkraut I had in my fridge and pantry, but that's white cabbage not green.
So, I'll have to imagine that my cabbage represents bank cheques instead of cash;-)

And for my Random Acts of Kindness I bought red envelopes and stuffed them with $10 worth of $2 scratchies each and gave them to close family members.

And bought myself a carton of Chinese beer:-)
