Every August 2nd

I've had this 'Nature Coloring' book laying around the house since October last year and haven't made one attempt since to do even one page of the book, but since I saw that August 2nd is 'National Colo[u]ring Book Day' I convinced myself that if was now or never to do at least one page today, but where to begin I thought?

When I saw the deer on the first coloring page of the book the words of that 'The Sound of Music' song came into my head, and I thought start at the very beginning:-)

The funny thing was I was listening to an 'American Alchemy' podcast episode on my iPad titled 'Spielberg Just Revealed The Truth About Aliens (He Knows!)' and they mention 'Project Bluebird', just after I had coloured in my bird blue, because that's my favourite colour blue, and it was a blue bird hitting my living room window that really started me blogging -

And as I listened further to the 'American Alchemy' podcast episode, I thought that these animals remind me of the fake looking AI screen memory that all converge on the Emily Blunt character in the movie.

It looks like it's getting too late for me to finish this page tonight, but at least I have finally made a start on this book.

I'll post a picture of the finished page in the days ahead ... hopefully:-) 

Maybe I should have started with the owl?-)

At least I'd have a fair idea what colours to use;-)

Adult colouring-in books appeal to the nostalgia of childhood memories, I guess?

But now I remember how much colouring-in books and sheets in pre-school would bore me to death ... and still do.

I think I'll give 'National Colo[u]ring Book Day' a miss next year, and every year after that, as well:-)
