Remember, Remember ... to Bet Responsibly on Melbourne Cup Day?πŸ΄πŸ†πŸ‡πŸ€‘πŸ’°πŸ’Έ

The Melbourne Cup is run on the first Tuesday in November, which just happens to be the 5th of November this year:-)
I haven't had a win on The Cup since 2018 when Cross Counter won -
Picking a Winner?
And this year I've wacked $50 on the nose of ABSURDE at 10-1.
I was going to back SEA KING but backed down at the last minute because of the British female jockey riding it.
King of the Street Libraries?πŸ’€πŸ“š♚πŸ‘»
I guess I'll find out in less than an hour if that was an ABSURDE bet or not.

UPDATE: November 5th, 2024
Looks like only the bookies won today:-(
Not all was lost, as I can flip my losing ticket over and use it as a $50 post it note:-)
And it was a horse from my home Australian state of Queensland that won the race, too:-(
And what really pisses me off is that as soon as I had placed my bet the "universe" starts throwing synchs my way about #11.
And that f#ckin' UFO that Dolan was riding.
"Knight’s Choice was a bargain buy for just $85,000 for Laxon and her Sunshine Coast operation. It has turned out to be the best investment Australian racing has seen for some time.
The five-year-old gelding was considered an
$81 long-shot with bookmakers with his victory one of the biggest boil overs seen in recent years.
It was also the first time Queensland-based Irish jockey Dolan was racing in the Cup.
“Pinch me. I’m dreaming,” he said after the race."
TOE of the UFO?πŸ›Έ πŸ‘½πŸ‘ΎπŸ‘€
RBA holds rates steady at 4.35 per cent
And like I say, most Australians lost today, as the RBA have put a hold on interest rates.
