Tootsie/Roll?🎥🍬🎬

I was planning on writing this post around Bill Murray's birthday when I wrote this recent post -
I was only made aware that there was such a candy as a
Tootsie Roll when I was given one when I went to have dinner in Casa Bonita in Denver, Colorado on March the 5th this year.
We had a 4 o'clock booking at Casa Bonita for dinner, as my son was going to a Winona Fighter concert in Denver that night, and I was staying back in our hotel room to relax and watch TV.
Save the Rhino Day?🦏🎨🎭
I can't remember exactly when we were given the Tootsie Roll in Casa Bonita, it might have even come with the complementary dessert, which I took back to the hotel room to eat later that night.
Anyway, I didn't eat the
Tootsie Roll they gave me that night, I threw the candy into my bag of souvenirs and forgot about it until I arrived back in Brisbane, Australia weeks later.
What my Tootsie Roll looked like in Brisbane
The Drew Barrymore Show S5.E109
I was watching the local Denver news stations while my son was at the Winona Fighter concert that night and when he came home, I switched it over to the latest Drew Barrymore Show, where her guest was actor Bill Murray talking about his acting career and his role in 'Tootsie'.
Which is probably why I didn't eat the
Tootsie Roll that night, so as to remember to write up a post about the night I found out about the candy and the weird 'Tootsie' synch with Bill Murray being on 'The Drew Barry Show' that night.
Although, I wasn't game to eat the one I bought home from Casa Bonita, so didn't know what it tasted like until I found a Tootsie Roll Bar in my local supermarket in the American food section for $4 Australian ... which was a rip off really.
I ate the bar a few months back but kept the wrapper on my desk, so I would remember to write this post up,
So, now I can throw the wrapper in the bin, since this is that post.
Every October 1st
And what better day than today to post it, with it being 'Willy Wonka Day' and the start of 'Caramel Month'?
Every October
Although, Wikipedia says this about the
Tootsie Roll not really being a caramel -
"The candy has qualities similar to both caramels and taffy without being exactly either confection."
I'll pass on eating a
Tootsie Roll this Halloween, as they are a bit hard on my teeth, and if I lost a tooth or two eating one, I'd be calling them Toothsie Rolls from then on;-)
Every October
I'll stick with Aussie candy this Halloween ... just to be safe:-)
