I see that December 21st is 'French Fried Shrimp Day' and 'International Energy Drink Day', not to mention 'Yule' and 'Winter Solstice' in the northern part of the planet.

Down here in Australia it is Summer Solstice, and heading into Christmas Day can be pretty hot and uncomfortable depending in which part of the country you live.

I hadn't heard of 'French Fried Shrimp Day' and 'International Energy Drink Day', before this year, but I did buy a one-person seafood platter meal (which had one or two fried prawns in it) and a can of Red Bull the day before when I went to see the new Avatar movie.

But I did celebrate 'National Sangria Day' on the right day -

Most Aussies like me prefer a cold seafood Christmas Day lunch washed down with a few beers on the day.

There's also a rush on seafood outlets leading up to Christmas Day down here.

And in summer there's not much point in making your bed on any day, I reckon:-)
