It was only from watching it on Dick Van Dyke's 100th birthday that I realized just how eerily synchromystic this movie was.
Dick Van Dyke's birthday just happens to fall on 'Day of the Horse', and when I watched the horse scene in the movie, I started wondering just how many of these actors from the movie were still alive today?

Julie Andrews had turned 90 in October this year, and it was no surprise to me that she was still with us, as I'm sure that would have been all over the media if she had have passed away.

Having been past the blue horse twice just outside the Denver airport this year, which the locals have nicknamed Blucifer, I couldn't help thinking, what is it with blue horses and artists?
P. L. Travers was Australian and would have been familiar with the race that stops a nation, the Melbourne Cup, although I'm guessing that she probably would not approve of it:-)
Ironically, there have only been two female jockeys to win Australia's biggest horse race, the first was Michelle Payne (who turned 40 this year)10 years ago, and the second was Jamie Melham this year.
What a Payne: Part #Too?

| Karen Dotrice and Julie Andrews |
Karen Dotrice turned 70 this November, so it's milestones all round this year for the living actors from the movie it seems.

| Reginald Owen in Mary Poppins |
Ironically, Reginald Owen, who fires fireworks at the chimney sweeps in the movie, died of a heart attack on November 5th in Boise, Idaho at the age of 85.
I'm sure there is more I could write about the synchromysticism of 'Mary Poppins', but that's all I can remember for now:-)
