The Call of the Wild?📕🐺

Jack London's book 'The Call of the Wild' is one of the 1001 Books I'm told I should read before I die, but I'm not a dog person ... or I should say that I'm not a big dog person.

I'm a cat person, but to be fair, I'm not fond of big cats like lions and tigers, either.

I was tempted to skip reading this book (but I listened to it on audio), as I had recently read 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' written by Arthur Conan Doyle, which I wrote about in this recent post -

I was sick of hearing and reading about dogs lately, both in fiction and in recent newspaper articles, such as these terrifying (to me) stories below. 

I've been going for walks with my youngest son around our neighbourhood and I told him how Dami Im was bit by a dog somewhere around the neighbourhood about 4 years ago, and I found the news story on the net to show him the damage the dog inflicted on her, and he told me," don't worry dad, I'll protect you if a dog comes at us."

I laughed at that and told him that I guess I don't have to outrun the dog to save myself, I'd just have to be able to outrun him:-P

And I see that Dami was in the news again recently as her song 'Smile' made a comeback in modern pop culture this year:-)

Dami was born in the Year of the Dragon like me, but Donald Trump was born in the Year of the Fire Dog, and that doesn't put a smile on my face:-(

I watched the Disney movie that was "based" on Jack London's novel of the same name and found it to be another WOKE joke of an adaption.
