Denzel Washington hit by Facebook fake news story on Trump
"A fabricated news story claiming Hollywood actor Denzel Washington had praised US President-elect Donald Trump is being shared widely on Facebook
The post is from Facebook page American News."
"Who is American News?
American News has more than five million likes on Facebook.
It specialises in emotive right-wing stories.
The articles it shares on Facebook link back to its website, which contains no information about the people who write and publish the stories.
The domain registration uses a privacy service to keep the owner's identity a secret."
And Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg responded to these concerns in a post on Saturday night.
"Only a very small amount is fake news and hoaxes," he said.
"The hoaxes that do exist are not limited to one partisan view, or even to politics."
But it appears not all Mr Zuckerberg's own employees were satisfied with his response, as Buzzfeed news has reported that some have set up an unofficial task force to deal with the problem."

But I'm quoting the BBC's story above, so don't take "my" word for it;-)
"The prevalence of fake news on Facebook has become a hot issue in the wake of the US election. And Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg responded to these concerns in a post on Saturday night.

And don't forget that Mark Zuckerberg has mentioned his ambitions of running for the American Presidency sometime down the track and if he gets enough "likes" at the polling booths he could be in the White House and what a database he would have on his political foes being the owner of Facebook.
Hitler and Santa could have only dreamed of such a database to see just who was naughty and nice out there.
Mark Zuckerberg Is Sure Acting Like Someone Who Might Run for PresidentSo, I think Denzel nailed it in that BBC interview by asking, "are you using social media, or is it using you?"
Not only did Denzel nail the social media issue, but I think he may have nailed himself a 'Best Actor' Oscar for his role in 'Fences'.
And not just because of the carry over issue from last year's Oscars about diversity ... although that won't hurt his chances either ... and the fact that the only guy in the running to get that Oscar is seen as a little sleazebag in Hollywood circles, as well ... but that could all be "Fake News", right Casey?-)
But if I was Denzel, I'd be making some room over the mantelpiece for that Oscar.
