I saw the above news story at the BBC news website about Indonesians keeping owls as pets after the success of the Harry Potter books and movies, and thought is there a message here for us humans in this story?
"Since the runaway success of the Harry Potter series some Indonesians have started keeping owls as pets.
More owls are being sold and conservationists are worried about the impact on the population in the wild."
Ironically owls are viewed by some people as a sign of abduction of people by aliens and as a sign of a "screen memory" after an abduction.
Now people are abducting owls from their nests and think it is OK to do so.
I think there is a message here for sure.
Wake up and start giving a hoot about what you are doing to the planet, or you will disappear, too!
