A bee in a scene from 'Blade Runner 2049' |
"When Professor Mandyam Srinivasan began studying bees 25 years ago, he had no idea where his studies would take him.
He was interested in learning how bees landed so elegantly, and avoided colliding in mid-air.
What Mandyam discovered was a complex and astounding system of vision and flight, which is now being applied to machine vision and robotics.
He and his team at the Queensland Brain Institute have built an autonomous aircraft, without GPS or radar, that flies like a bee.
The technology could have widespread applications for surveillance, rescue operations, defence, and planetary exploration."
The hive of a bee colony, hexagonal prismatic cells, flight and Officer K’s vehicle’s doors mimicking the wing structure of a bee.
Visual and emotive expression has been illustrated in Adobe Photoshop with the use of colour and movement to capture the action and explosiveness of the Nexus 9 replicant future revolution.
Such an inspiring project to have the opportunity to work on and looking forward to watching where the #RoadTo2049 leads us! #MeganBester"
"What does the worldwide head of research at Google tell his kids about how to prepare for the future of work with artificial intelligence?
"I tell them … wherever they will be working in 20 years probably doesn't exist now," Peter Norvig says. "No sense training for it today."
Be[e] flexible, he says, "and have an ability to learn new things".
Future of work experts (yes, it's a thing now) and AI scientists who spoke to Lateline variously described a future in which there were fewer full-time, traditional jobs requiring one skill set; fewer routine administrative tasks; fewer repetitive manual tasks; and more jobs working for and with "thinking" machines."

"Elon Musk is increasingly out on his own with his doomsday predictions of a future where artificial intelligence threatens human existence.
"This is a case where Elon and I disagree," says Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, speaking with the WSJ Magazine and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
"The so-called control problem that Elon is worried about isn't something that people should feel is imminent," says Gates, according to a transcript of the interview published by the WSJ Magazine Monday. "We shouldn't panic about it."
Over the past few months, Tesla and SpaceX boss Musk has issued repeated, dire threats warning of a very scary future with artificial intelligence.
Musk says the global race for artificial intelligence will cause World War III and that governments will take AI technology "at gunpoint" if necessary. The billionaire tech icon has also says robots will be able to do everything better than humans. And "AI is a fundamental risk to the existence of human civilization" and poses "vastly more risk" than North Korea, according to Musk." To be, or not to bee?
That is the question me thinks;-)
