Seeing Sharks and Synchronicity?

I was listening to the latest podcast of Dr. Bernie Beitman's (#52) where he interviews Gary E. Schwartz, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology, Medicine, Neurology, Psychiatry, and Surgery at the University of Arizona and Director of the Laboratory for Advances in Consciousness and Health.

And in this podcast Gary is stunned by the shark synchronicites turning up in his life.

I found it all very amusing because anyone who has been reading my blog for a while would know that I've been a lifelong supporter of the Cronulla-Sutherland Rugby League club and they made it into the 2016 NRL Grand Final on my 52nd birthday ... literally.

So, seeing sharks is nothing new to me, but seeing them win their first grand final was priceless.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri... Again?

I had a free movie ticket on my cinema club card today and there really was nothing much worth seeing in my books, so I went and saw 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' again.

It was one of the first Oscar nominated movies I saw, and I expected to see the winner somewhere in the rest of the field, but I was wrong.

After seeing pretty much all of the 'Best Picture' nominations and then seeing 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' for a second time I'd have to say this was the best picture out of a pretty poor field of movies.

And what the hell happened with 'Molly's Game'?

That was surely worthy of being among this bunch.

I still think Margot Robbie should win 'Best Actress', though.

And with you being producer of the film Margot, your payment into my bank account for me writing that here should be tax deductible ... so the producers of '3 Billboards...' tell me anyway;-)

I've been reading Peter Levenda's book 'The Dark Lord' at the same time as I've been reading Mark Frost's 'The Secret History of Twin Peaks' and in Frost's book he mentions rocket scientist Jack Parsons allegedly blowing himself up accidentally with rocket fuel where he was living, and then friends finding the body and then worrying what to do about a big mural of a satanic looking Pan figure painted on one of Jack's walls.

I thought maybe that was what the picture on the front cover of 'The Dark Lord' was, but it turns out to be a painting by Rosaleen Norton.

Rosaleen Norton was certainly an interesting character by all accounts.

"Bible said the challenge that Norton presented so frankly to society during the 1950s, still mirrored themes prevalent today.
“I think hers is a more contemporary story than people realise,” Bible said.
“Powerful, intelligent women are still persecuted today — our last Prime Minister was called a witch too.
“Rosaleen was also a pagan and her philosophy was to worship nature over the dollar — when has that idea ever been more important than today?”
Norton’s often-banned artwork graphically depicted otherworldly demons, gods and sex acts."
