The time difference between Brisbane and Paris is 8 hours, so at 5am in Brisbane Bastille Day is so yesterday, but watching the live score from the BBC, even London is an hour behind Paris I see.
I am heading to Perth before the sun sets in Brisbane today, so before midnight Brisbane time, I'll be 2 hours closer to Paris time.
I'm going for France to win the cup now that all the teams I wanted to win it are out, but I certainly won't be placing any money on them.
It wasn't a good sign that my SIGNS watch stopped yesterday, and I had to buy a new battery from the jewelers yesterday, so I could wear it in Perth.
But I've got to say that the weather forecast has put a dampener on my plans for watching the sun set in the west.

Looks like I won't be needing any sunscreen in Perth on my July trip?
At least the rain might ease before the Brisbane Lions take to the field against the West Coast Eagles on Saturday?
I'm only going for France because the Brisbane Lions theme song is to the tune of the French national anthem.

As I have my morning coffee in the cup I bought when I was in Singapore last year, I realize that the plane trip to Perth from Brisbane will be a 6-hour flight, just like the one from Brisbane to Singapore.
I wonder if I'll be able to find a good beef hotdog before my flight to Perth today?

UPDATE: July 15th, 2026 (Australian time)
There's a saying among Aussie Rules fans who aren't Collingwood supporters, shortened to an acronym ABC that stands for Anyone But Collingwood.
And I'm sure there is one for Aussies who aren't English that goes ABE that stands for Anyone But England;-)
