The Ring/Samara Morgan/Daveigh Chase and The Years of the Horse?🎠🐎🐴

I watched both the Japanese and American versions of 'The Ring' movies 1 and 2, and even 'The Spiral' and wondered why only the American version of 'The Ring' was so heavy on the horse image, since Daveigh Chase was born in 1990, The Year of the Metal Horse, and would die in 2026, The Year of the Fire Horse, and 'The Ring' was released in 2002, The Year of the Water Horse?
Kind of a weird coincidence how drowned horses feature in the 2002, The Year of the Water Horse version of 'The Ring'?

It was only when I was listening to the 'A Guided Life' podcast about crows that I heard that a Morgen (Morgan?) is a mythological water spirit.
And then there is Morgan le Fay.
