"For Whom the Bell Tolls"?

Six Flags: Woman dies while riding

Texas Giant in Arlington

Bell was in War is Hell, playing when
Oswald was caught in the Texas Theater
Michael Bell was an actor I mentioned in my post about the movie
Airport and War is Hell.
Airport Connections?
He was also in the movie Roller-coaster that was released
June 17th, 1977, or 6/17/77, as it would be written in America.
Bell came to my attention after listening to a pod-cast about PKD, when David Gill in the podcast mentioned the phrase,
"For Whom the Bell Tolls".

I was looking through the actors that starred in the movie
War is Hell at the IMDB site and saw
Michael Bell listed, but I had no idea who he was, and even though I had this strange feeling to look into his work, I decided not to, until next minute in the podcast I heard the phrase,
"For Whom the Bell Tolls"
I started looking into the movies that were playing at the theater that Oswald was arrested in after allegedly shooting JFK, after I had written this post -
Episode 55: Always Record : Romper Room 237
Always Record Episode 55
Now, today I see a very tragic story about a lady falling to her death from the Texas Giant  Roller-Coaster in Texas.

Six Flags: Woman dies while riding

Texas Giant in Arlington

" A US woman who died after falling from a 14-storey high rollercoaster told staff she did not think she was secured properly, witnesses say.
Rosy Esparza plunged to her death while her children watched in horror at Six Flags Over Texas theme park in Texas on Friday US time.
Carmen Brown told the Dallas Morning News she saw Ms Esparza being strapped into the ride while she was waiting in line.
Ms Brown said Ms Esparza asked staffed to secure her safety bar again, thinking there was something wrong with the way it went down.
"They were like, 'As long you heard it click, you're OK," she said.
"Hers was the only one that went down once, and she didn't feel safe, but they let her still get on the ride."
Moments later Ms Esparza fell out while her horrified daughter and son completed the ride.
Theme park spokeswoman Sharon Parker said staff were working to determine what went wrong on the ride, named The Texas Giant, and considered the world's tallest steel-wood hybrid roller-coaster.

The local police department are now investigating.
It is not the first time someone has died at the theme park.
In 1999, a 28-year-old woman drowned and 10 others were injured when their raft overturned on the Roaring Rapids ride.

In the 1977 movie 'Rollercoaster' -
" The roller coaster featured in the main climax of the movie is the Revolution at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA. It opened in 1976 and was the first roller coaster to feature a complete 360-degree vertical loop.
Some of the amusement park scenes were shot at Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia, just north of Richmond. Kings Dominion is now owned by Cedar Fair.
The mad bomber played by Timothy Bottoms is billed only as "Young Man" and never referred to by any personal name in the picture.
In the accompanying film tie-in novel "Death Ride" by Burton Wohl, the bomber is given the name Eddie Parnassus.
Diamond Farnsworth (son of Richard Farnsworth) was a stuntman on this film, and he broke his back filming the climactic ending when the Revolution crashed into the bomber.
Debut feature film of actors Helen Hunt, Craig Wasson and
Steve Guttenberg
Hunt was thirteen years old.
Names of roller-coasters in the movie included "The Rocket"
(played by "The Southern Belle")
the wooden roller coaster "Rebel Yell" and Magic Mountain's
"The Great American Revolution"
(aka "La RevoluciΓ³n" and "The Revolution).
The three amusement Parks featured in the film included Ocean View Park in Norfolk, Virginia; Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia and Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California.
The film's director James Goldstone once said of this movie:
"But this is a suspense film not a disaster film,it is in the classic Alfred Hitchcock and Carol Reed tradition, in which the criminal challenges the police, and a surrogate, an innocent man, is drawn into the maelstrom".
Attractions at the King's Dominion amusement park in Doswell, Virginia seen in the film included a replica of the Eiffel Tower, an antique modern mono-rail, a Lion Country Safari monorail, and the Rebel Yell twin-racing rollercoaster.
Two stuntmen were injured and went to hospital from filming a roller-car crash sequence.
The accident occurred at Ocean View Park in Norfolk, Virginia for a sequence being captured by five cameras where twenty-four passengers to be killed from a rollercaoster crash.
One of the coaster cars hurled from the roller track as planned, landing on the balsa wood set building below the roller-coaster with five stunters on board, but two of them got injured
One of three 1970s Hollywood rail disaster movies. The films include
Rollercoaster, Avalanche Express and The Cassandra Crossing.
Some movie posters for the film featured a long preamble that read:
"You are in a race against time...and terror.
You are pursuing a nameless, faceless man through America's greatest amusement parks...and, for the first time, you are experiencing the most sensational rides of our time,
IN SENSURROUND".
The movie featured over one hundred bit roles many of them in true "cinema verite" style being played by real life incarnations e.g. policemen playing policemen.

Cory Monteith
Cory Monteith also appeared in a rollercoaster disaster movie
called Final Destination 3.

Sharknado Sync
Michael Bell was also in an episode of The Monkees TV show called
 'Art for Monkees'Sake'.
Bell has a lot parts in his acting career that are worth looking
at in a synchromystic sense
Talk about art imitating life.
Michael Bell
Bell did voice work on the movie Tangled,
which was released Nov 24th, the date Oswald died.
