Fascinating Fungi and the Humans Who Consume Them?πŸ„πŸ‘€πŸ˜ΆπŸ’©πŸ‘½ 😱😡

I have never consumed psychedelic or poisonous mushrooms, but I eat mushrooms from my local supermarket all the time in my homecooked pasta dishes.
I've always stated on this blog that at some point in my life I wouldn't mind trying psychedelic mushrooms in the right set and setting, as I hear people talking about the great trips (and sometimes not so great trips) the mushrooms have shown them, like whacky podcast host Chris Mathieu who is making a film about his mushroom experiences and who praises mushrooms as showing him the way through his life.
Although, listening to some of his whacky beliefs at his FKN site I'm not so sure "the mushrooms" are such good guides in
Maybe I should just stick with my PiGS and steer clear of mushrooms for guidance?-)

The last week or two I have stumbled upon various podcast episodes on the subject of mushrooms and why human beings find eating them so fascinating.
Especially this Conversations podcast below featuring Alison Pouliot, who I would feel rather confident sharing a home cooked meal of Beef Wellington at her dining table and not being accidentally poisoned if she had a beef with me.
If I died after consuming that meal at her table, then I would know that Alison really did have a beef with me, so to speak;-)
Conversations Podcast:
Fantastic and fascinating fungi
I only found the Fantastic Conversations mushroom podcast when I was searching for podcasts that Chris Haywood had been on lately and who I wrote about in this recent post -
I haven't listened to the ABC Conversations Podcast for some time, as it got rather boring to me a while back with some of the guests they were featuring and I flicked it off my podcast list, but I might have to put the podcast back on my podcast list, as I see a few recent ones that look like a good listen ... if that makes any sense?
And you can't pick up a Queensland newspaper lately without seeing something about mushrooms, although it's usually ads and articles about 'The Mushroom Cook'.

Introducing: The Mushroom Coo

If psychedelic mushrooms are meant to come from off planet, as an intelligence seeding source by aliens, as some "new agers" believe, then what about the poisonous variety I wonder?
Did All Mushrooms Come from Out of Space?

At least my backyard
fungi ate out my old tree stumps to the point that I could easily dig them out and plant my lemon and lime trees in their place.

When life gives you fungi make lemons and limes I say ... and avoid people who invite you to dinner over Beef Wellington;-)

Is The Fall Guy Just Taking the Piss Out of Tom Cruise?πŸŽ₯πŸ‚

When I saw
'The Fall Guy' at the cinema recently I couldn't help thinking the arrogant Hollywood actor Ryan Gosling is stunt doubling for was meant to be taking a swipe at the arrogance of Tom Cruise and his MI franchise, especially when he filmed MI2 in Sydney just after 'Eyes Wide Shut':-)
I mean they even actually name him in the movie when talking about "deep fakes";-)
Plus, Tom Ryder isn't that far away from the name Tom Cruise, is it ... should you choose to accept it?
Impossible Mission?
Turns 25 years old this year;-)
Didn't Stanley take the piss 25 years ago by casting a leading (at the time) Hollywood power couple ... and then died?-)
And on the subject of dying, didn't Emily Blunt star in a Hollywood blockbuster with Tom, too?
"A soldier fighting aliens gets to relive the same day over and over again, the day restarting every time he dies."
Ah, life and art ... as they say?-)
Living on the Edge?
Edge of TOMorrow (2014)
That film turns 10 this year, by the way:-)
And let's not forget that Sydney is Nic's hometown;-)
I wonder if Nicole goes for the Sydney Swans like

The Way, My Way, By May ... the 4th?πŸ₯ΎπŸ₯Ύ

I saw a Q&A preview screening of 'The Way, My Way' last Saturday at the New Farm Cinemas and at first, I thought the cinema had done a Simon Baker on me again with the Q&A part. like when I bought tickets to a Q&A screening of 'Breath' they put on in 2018, as the movie was about to commence and there wasn't a chair or microphone in sight near the front of the cinema.
The Six Degrees and Synchromysticism of Simon Baker?
But not so to my relief, as two metal stools were brought out and a portable mic handed to the people who had all the answers to give, kind of:-)
That screening took place on May 11th, 2024 -
Susan Backlinie, the First Victim in the 'Jaws' Film, dead at 77?🏊🦈
While I'm a Sharks and Lions supporter, Bill is a Sydney Swans supporter, hence that red hat he and the actor playing him in this movie are wearing in that photo above.
As I'm watching the movie I notice the date 1874 on the actor's hat and thought where have I just heard about that year recently, and it came to me that when I was watching the 1974 movie 'Blazing Saddles' it was mentioned by Mel Brooks' character in the movie that it was 1874, or 100 years before the movie was made:-)
And nothing much has changed in the 50 years since 'Blazing Saddles' was released, as Bill even has fart jokes in his movie ... see the trailer:-P
Blazing Saddles the Film You Couldn't Make Today Turns 50 in 2024?πŸ«˜πŸ€ πŸŽ‚πŸŽ¬
So, the Swans have been around 150 years this year, which takes you back to the year 'Blazing Saddles' was meant to take place until the 4th wall is smashed down big time?
But what really got me at the end of the movie 'The Way, My Way' was the group photo of the walkers finishing the walk on May the 4th, 2013 (AKA Star Wars Day)!?
According to Susan Backlinie's IMDB trivia page "she owned and trained a bear whose growls were later recorded for use as the voice of Chewbacca, according to Peter Mayhew tweet."
May the 4th (Star Wars Day) 2024 ... The Empire Never Ended?🏯🏰😎🎬
Too much headroom in my photo Bill?-)
I noticed that there were a few Star Wars type jokes in the movie where one walker says to Bill "so you've come to the darkside?"
So, I thought Bill was aware of the May the Forth (be with you) finishing date of the walk, but when I asked him about the finishing date Star Wars Day flew straight over his head ... which is one reason I left plenty of headroom in that last shot above;-)
The Way, My Way?πŸ₯ΎπŸ₯Ύ
Having watched the movie now, I can see that Bill was ... and probably still is ... a PiGS-headed man;-)

The Behind Greatness Podcast by Inspire North?πŸ§πŸŽ€πŸ¦‰

I stumbled across the 'Behind Greatness' podcast when I put in an Apple Podcast search for podcast episodes featuring 'The Owl Guy' Mike Clelland and was surprised to see that he made the cut for this show, as entertaining as Mike is with his owl stories ... and he certainly was entertaining on his appearance at 'Behind Greatness'.
WHO Are You Without Your Own Podcast Mike?πŸŽ€πŸ¦‰πŸ›Έ
Being Skeptical, not Scoffing
I like how Mike is featured on the episode after 'New Thinking Allowed' podcast host Jeff Mishlove, as both of these guys only became famous from interviewing people who are "greater" people than they are in the fields that they love, such as the many guests who are also interviewed in the other 'Behind Greatness' episodes.
I mean WHO would Mike and Jeff be without the podcast interviews they have done in the past to get to where they are today?
They have rubbed shoulders with "greatness" by interviewing "greatness" ... whatever that means when it comes to "great" human beings.
I have no idea why I have followed Mike over the years, as I don't buy his aliens/contactee fantasy (although something interesting is going on in his head), but I do like his owl stories and wonder where it is all taking him?
When I ask my "Gardian angel" why I have followed Mike over all of these years I'm told, "because you signed up for it";-)
And it will be interesting to see where all these interviews take Luciano over the course of 'Behind Greatness'?
Looks like I'll have to sign up for that as well, if I haven't already, that is:-)
I notice that Inspire launched on June 25, 2011, in Toronto, which was the Year of the Rabbit.
Maybe it's time to interview
Kelly Chase on 'Behind Greatness', too?
I wonder if Josh will get an interview on 'Behind Greatness' in the future?-)
The World (is a Giant Podcast Circle-Jerk) According to Josh Zepps?
