Did All Mushrooms Come from Out of Space?

I listened to the 'Skeptiko' podcast featuring Niles Heckman this morning and heard him say the psilocybin mushrooms are thought to have come from out of space in some drug cultures, and I wondered if all mushrooms and fungi did?

Wild Mushrooming?
The 'Avid Reader' bookstore even sent me an e-mail yesterday featuring that 'Wild Mushrooming' book above.
I might buy it when I get rid of a few books that I'm reading now, as I don't have mushroom in my bookcases at the moment for more books:-)

    There was a theory I heard whereby a comet smashed into Jupiters moon ‘Europa’ picking up the frozen octopus eggs - and other such Cephalopods- on the way to smashing into Earth. Perhaps something similar happened with those mushrooms. Might be the reason the psychotropic nature of many plants and fungi were venerated by the ancients...interesting theory.

    I think that comet must have landed in my backyard by the looks of things.
    I'll have to check my birdbath for octopus.
