COLEman SYNC
gets mentioned, although I think they missed my point, that it was his book contradicting his blog that I had the problem with,
not the book or the blog by themselves.
Anyway Bill said ,
"I've been looking for something to sync up with the whole Django movie, you know the whole D is silent ... it's nothing, it's meaningless"
You can find Bill's comment at the 37 min mark of the first segment of the show.
Well speaking of Coleman and the D is silent, check out the above clip from the movie The Birdcage.
" A gay cabaret owner and his drag queen companion agree to put up a false straight front so that their son can introduce them to his fiancΓ©e's right-wing moralistic parents."
"...and what ensues is comic chaos"
And talking about flow and silent Ds, you might like to listen to this song Bill?-)
But I think Tarantino has made the D silent so as to represent
the 'silent but deadly' meaning of a silent D.
So, maybe we should be saying "Go with D'flow" instead of "Go with the flow", acknowledging the fact that you still have to keep an eye out for the dangers that lurk in the flow?
I still say go with the flow, but keep your eyes open and question just where it is that you're heading with it, before it's too late.

You would have to listen to the podcast to get that last joke ;-)

Brilliant, with Gene Hackman to seal it. It's nice to know someone else is enjoying the conversation.
ReplyDeleteIt was actually one of the best yet.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed it and enjoyed your chapter in SYNC Book 2.
I think the high school dropout that Alan referred to who knocked him back for SYNC Book 1 was me,but it was
SYNC Book 2,not SYNC Book 1.
Cheers.
Perfekt, as they say in DE =)
ReplyDeleteIn October I was in Berlin for a spell.
Scroll the archive page here, and note the chain sync.

Big D is most certainly not silent.
@Bill

Did you mean your podcast,or the Gene Hackman movie of the same name that you were talking about in the podcast,or both ?-)
@ Endpointithaca
ReplyDeleteI like how when the chain in your post is turned 90 degrees it spells the word coop,as in flown (flowin'?) the coop,or cage.-)
Haha, yes indeed, nice and circular!
ReplyDeleteThe moving boxes we picked up from the Co-Op, as we flew the coop to a new place further down the road =)
July was Birds

The City of Gold and Spiderman also make an appearance.
I know why the caged bird sings ;)
