The art of realizing meaningful coincidence in the seemingly mundane with mystical or esoteric significance."

Is 2017 Gonna be a Year for the Birds?

I was in my local post office a few weeks ago and the above 2017 calendar caught my eye with a rainbow lorikeet on the front of it.
Every-time I see a rainbow lorikeet I think of the day my (now ex) father-in-law passed away
After Death Communication? Part 1 (Birds, Butterflies and Bows)
I picked up the calendar while I was waiting in line to pick up a parcel and a thought hit me in the head that wouldn't it be synchy if there was a picture of a rainbow lorikeet for the month of October, as my father-in-law at the time had passed away on the 30th of October.
Of course, I could have bet my bottom dollar on it that there would be, as the thought never really seemed to be mine anyway.
There was a different bird for each month of 2017, and I had had encounters with a lot of these birds in the past year in real life, even though some of them were in captivity and not free to fly away -

I wrote about meeting the bird pictured above in the post linked above its head.
But I also met some red-tailed black cockatoos at the same place, and these are the species for March in the calendar.

I thought it was quite synchy also that the blue fairy wren sees in the New Year being the bird pictured for the month of January, as I had a whole tribe living in the trees next to the unit I have just moved from, which is about the only thing I will miss about living there, as I don't have any of them around me now.
I like how the blue fairy wren is sitting on a golden wattle branch, a tree featured on Australia's coat of arms and a tree known to contain DMT.
Star Stories of The Dreaming
How shamanic is that?-)
And while my crows don't visit me now because I'm now outside of their territory, they hang around my local shops and I can visit them there.
I love birds and love to see them flying free and not caged up and I met a lot of sulphur crested cockatoos on my last few road trips in Canberra and Sydney and there are some living not far from where I now live just a short drive up the road.

And while I have never seen a rainbow bee-eater in the wild, it reminds me of a glass blown bird I bought in Canberra, which I thought was a kingfisher, but found out later that it was meant to be a " tiny" hummingbird.

Have you seen a hummingbird this big?
I bought the "hummingbird" at the Canberra flower show after quite a few live bird encounters that I wasn't expecting on the day, which I wrote about here -
A Black Swan Event in Canberra
Oddly enough, my youngest son rang me today to tell me that he and his girlfriend are moving back up to Queensland to live in January, as they both have jobs up here to go to, so I no longer have a real reason to visit Canberra any longer, which is a bit sad.

Oddly enough, my friends Trish and Rob at Synchrosecrets blog just wrote a post about hummingbirds mentioning a book called, 'The Enlightened Mind' by Stephen Mitchel, a book I had never heard of before, and they relate a story from it about Indra’s Net as a “profound and subtle metaphor for the structure of reality."
Hummingbird Synchros and Spirit Contact
I keyed up Stephen Mitchel in Google videos and found the video on You Tube below that describes the principal of his theory and I thought how weird it was that it starts off and ends with a rooster, as next year is 2017: The Year of the Rooster in Chinese culture

Well, I just hope 2017 is something to crow about if I can make it that far into the calendar year that is;-)
I also listened to this Dennis McKenna podcast today as soon as I could, because of the photo I saw of him with birds that I saw in a linked page -

Good interview, too and not just for the birds;-)
Oddly enough, I met Dennis McKenna in October of 2012 in my hometown at the 'Origins of Consciousness Tour'.

  1. Dude, you sure have synchronicities going on. The more you witness, the more you will witness! Now connect the mystical Phenom with the synch Phenom. Write downe each synchro and look for patterns. Do the patterns synch with the psyche? Is the world bringing up the unconscious material you need to address or work on? Is it all just a display of wonderment for us monkeys? Me thinks we learn/become more aware with each and every synch. You have it going on! 87

  2. Over the years of writing this blog I've come to see synchronicites on two levels, level one, personal synchronicities which really only talk to my life experience, such as the rainbow lorikeet being on the month of October in the calendar the same month my father-in-law passed away with all the seemingly impossible rainbow lorikeet syncs going on like some "there's more to life than what you can see from down there" to us left behind in the "real" world.
And then there are the level two synchs, which I call pop cultural syncs, which involve not just me but large sections of the world's population (of which I'm also a part), such as the things I write in posts like 'The Blair Walsh Project', where the Minnesota Vikings player Blair Walsh (who shares the same birth-date, but different years to David Bowie) missed a crucial kick for his football team and became an anti-hero (remember Bowie had the hit-song 'heroes')to the fans on the same day that David Bowie passed away.
I see synchronicities as little moments in my life as assurances that my greater sub-conscious self (which is hooked into the great super-consciousness of the universe, just like everybody else's is) is sending my little conscious self jabs to pay attention and to open my eyes just a little wider and follow the bread crumbs it's sending me, as that trail is probably the way I should go in my life, but it's more than just heading on a journey, it's taking a good look around me and taking note of what I see and who I meet as I head forward on the journey and just how all that connects me to the world and other people I meet on my journey and how they are connected to the world through their journey through life.
Life is a team sport and each one of us are mere players in the game and have our own unique part to play in that game (I hope I don't miss a crucial kick like Blair did in my game though:-)...to twist an old Shakespeare quote;-)
I believe synchronicities are like a personal (and sometimes group) GPS, telling us you are here, turn left there, now go here, read this, see that, etc.
And it works best through your heart and emotions, because you feel joy and a sense of wonder and peace when you are on "the right path", even though your rational mind might be telling you WTF are you doing, this is nuts?
It is what I guess people mean when they say "follow your heart".
