I woke up at 3am this morning and realized that today was Mother's Day here in Australia and immediately thought of that Rob Thomas song '3 am' and then I went back to sleep and arose with the sun and then got up and made myself a cup of coffee while I ponder the weirdness of not having a living mother to celebrate the day for the first time in my life.

Ironically, my sister, who is a grandmother shares February 14th with Rob Thomas, as far as birthdays go:-)

Ironically for me, Dying Matters Week ends on Mother's Day this year and National Hospital Week starts.

My mother passed away in palliative care in a local hospital on David Lynch's birthday this year, and ironically today is also 'National Washington Day', an American state where David filmed 'Twin Peaks' and I had the pleasure to visit last year with my youngest son -
