Nouns of Assembly: A Barrel of Sea Monkeys? 🌊🙈🙉🙊

I bought a mini 'Barrel of Monkeys' keyring at an Op Shop a few months back that have been sitting on my computer table ever since, but with today being 'National Pack Rat Day' where the Day invites us to rethink our relationship with material possessions, I've decided to give them back to the Op Shop I bought them at, in an effort to de-clutter my desk.
Nouns of Assembly
I never knew that a
'Barrel of Monkeys' was the actual term for a group of monkeys, like a murder of crows is for a group of crows.
I've always hated the term a murder of crows, as I quite like crows.
A
parlement of owls sounds stupid to me as well.
But after listening to the REMORANDOM You Tube about sea monkeys, I wondered if a group of sea monkeys would be a "barrel of sea monkeys":-)
I've also got a monkey earring in a sparkling wine cork on my desk that is time to throw away today, I think.
As I would hate to find it in my bare foot next time, rather than my work shoe.
I wrote about the monkey earring in this old 2024 post, which seems to be missing some You Tubes now -
Idiocracy (2006)
Actually, now I think about it, my NRL team the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks won their first ever (and still only) NRL grand final in 2016, the Year of the Monkey, and The Sharks' victory song is 'Up, Up Cronulla' sung to the tune of 'Roll Out the Barrel', so maybe I'll hold onto my keyring and just move it to my bookcase that has my Shark membership stuff?-)
