Looking Out of the Space Needle to Mount Rainier to Where Kenneth Arnold Had a UFO Sighting?πŸ›ΈπŸ‘€πŸ‘½

I wrote in a recent post about leaving Denver, Colorado on March 6th for Seattle, Washington, while Mike Clelland unbeknownst to me was in Colorado recording a podcast about owls and UFO contact on March 7th
A sticker I bought at the Twin peaks diner:-)
I Was in the Same State (Colorado) as The Owl Guy, While He Was There ... Maybe?πŸŒŽπŸ¦‰
The Space Needle looking like a flying saucer to us:-)
Me and my youngest son had originally planned to do the Space Needle on March the 7th, but decided to do it the day we landed, so we could go out to North Bend and eat at the diner the Twin Peaks TV show was filmed in.
We walked from our hotel to the Space Needle, since the weather was good, and planned on getting a pie to eat for dinner/lunch and maybe a beer and watch the sun set in the west over the ocean.
A Seattle Fire Station we passed on our way
It was kind of surreal to me to be walking towards an icon that I never thought I would be visiting in my lifetime.
And to think that the weather gods turned on the perfect weather for us in our two- and a-bit days in Seattle, as the weather was bad either side of our trip window.
I remember my dad playing his Perry Como greatest hits LP when we were kids and the lyrics about the bluest skies you ever seen are in Seattle
And on the day that we walked towards the Space Needle, maybe Perry was right?
The funny thing in hindsight was that I had hoped to see an owl in the wild in Washington, but the only wild bird that approached me was a duck at the fountain outside of the
Space Needle of all places in Washington to see a strange bird in the wild:-)
Hmm ... what did David Lynch say about the eye of a duck?
And it's not lost on me that today as I write this post up, that it is 'National Donald Duck Day':-)
I remember walking on the ramp towards the elevator to get to the top of the
Space Needle and seeing all the stuff below in the store you exit through at the end and wondering how I could get those big models of the Space Needle into my luggage to take home to Australia.
The reason we had made our way up to the
Space Needle was to see the sun sink into the ocean at sunset, as I have never visited the western side of Australia, and in all my lifetime have never seen the sun set into the ocean.
Although that bit of land out on the horizon kind of wrecked that idea of seeing the sun set into the ocean
:-(

When we were walking around the upper deck, I saw this big mountain and asked my son what it was called.
He did a search on his phone and told me it was Mount Rainier.
I said to him "was that the mountain that Kenneth Arnold saw the UFOs over?"
Then he did a search on his phone and said yes, like it was news to him.
And I never knew that this mountain was so close to the city.
So, here we are in Seattle, basically home of the first post-WWII UFO sighting, and Mike Clelland is doing a podcast back in Colorado the next day about owls and UFOs, while "The Universe" sends me a duck as a messenger?
Funny how that Martian flag resembles the Japanese flag, don't you think?
I'll return to that in a future post ... God willing?
 Final Destination: Bloodlines (2025)
And I'm glad that I never saw 'Final Destination: Bloodlines' before my visit to the
Space Needle -
There's the Doughnut and There is the Hole, and You Should Keep Your Eye on the Donut?πŸ©πŸ‘“πŸ‘€πŸ•³πŸ‡
But here is the kicker to this post, both David Lynch and Kenneth Arnold passed away on January 16th, although in different years, of course.
And in that photo above I wasn't pointing at Mount Rainier, I was pointing at the Seattle Seahawks stadium, because that's where we were headed the next day, as I'm a Seahawks fan and one of the main reasons we were in Seattle in the first place -
Twelves Day?
Things make a lot more sense when viewed from a distance, whether that be time or space, I think.
"The Universe" did seem to keep me on track while I was in America:-)
