Six Degrees of Rod Steiger?

Rod Steiger doing an alien impression?-)
I finished reading Sync today
and was amazed that Steven was involved in a mathematical study of the popular Six Degrees Of Kevin Bacon game.

Turning 6 Degrees Down to 2 Degrees

The 42 Degrees of Bacon
But according to Steven's study Keven Bacon ranked #669 on the list of best-connected actors, as measured by his average separation from everyone else in the giant component, as Steven refers to it.
By this measure, the center of the Hollywood universe is Rod Steiger.
Rod's last movies were Poolhall Junkies and The Hollywood Sign.

His last really big movie was The Hurricane
starring Denzel Washington.
He was also in movies such as Mars Attacks,
and the Gore Vidal TV movie Lincoln.

The Amityville Horror -
And he won the Oscar for the 1967 movie, In The Heat Of The Night.
But since Rod Steiger is now out of the picture, so to speak, Kevin may still be able to make enough movies to take Rod's crown.
The only trouble is that Christopher Lee is ranked #2, and he's still alive and making movies as well ;-)

Maybe not such a good idea taking on Lord Sumerisle with a name like Bacon?-)

+Fascinating sequence here. I'm always intrigued by 6 degrees of separation, which actually seems to be shrinking to about 3!
